You are right abt NTT and Etisalat.
Etisalat is one of my telecom clients. We are one of the partners helping them with strategy and pricing.

They have deep pockets and are quite big in middle east. Person at my level and exp. earns 10 lakhs more than me :) ...

NTT docomo and etisalat are established old players overseas ...
I doubt they would have issues like liquidity ..

my take is about marketing and brands ..
imagine docomo selling without tatas name in place ...

As it is clear that there have not been any underreporting of Licenec fees or Revenue by telecome companys, its a good news for the Investors...

Since more data services will be used on phone so CDMA has a definite edge and there will be a kind of switch from GSM to CDMA also......

This will be a real test for this highly innovative industry. The companies will have to be really focussed on service quality and customer satisfaction. We may see many users switch.
India is going in the right direction. Customers will ensure that the weak companies are weeded out.

CDMA will get benefited going forward since there is huge R&D being carried out by qualcom. It is better in datatransfer as compared to GSM.

RCOM should get benefited once we have number portability and 3G service...

The new commers will have tough time with the per second billing as compared the old biggies like Bharti, Rcom and Idea, who already have established name and infrastructure created over the years and have already recovered the major part against their investment, where as the new commers will have to establish yet.

In the end the larger will survive this price war, nothing is going to happen to biggies, as they have already made lot of money and there may be some lose in profit to oldies as against net lose to the new commers....

Lets see how long these new commers survive this price was started by them.... ...
