Dear Rajeev,

your observation is quite good, but in share market such comparisions do not work, as there are so many other hidden factors which run side by side in takeing any share to its highes. Who knows, IDFC may go even higher than the way HDFC has been in the next 3 to 5 years.

Yes, IDFC is a good share to hold for long term investment, will definetely gain.

In NOV.2000 HDFC was on 165 Now 2700 SO IDFC will be surely on HDFC WAY. Only name diff H in Hdfc & I in IDFC ,in last 5-7 years was for HOUSING SECTOR,nOW IT`S SHIFTING TO INFRASTRUCTURE SECTOR for next 10 years & IDFC is a company for INFRASTRUCTURE PROXY.So buy on dips for this future BLUECHIP.

I guess one should not even look at his/her holdings of IDFC in portfolio. This is one stock which will give 25-30% returns per annum safely.
Only if you see too much froth wherein discounting of 3-4 years ahead is taking place, should you consider selling this stock. ...
