Tata Power Co. Ltd. has informed the Exchange vide its letter dated November 06, 2009 that "The Company has today launched and priced a US$250 Million + upsize option of US$50 Million, 5 years and 1 day, 1% - 1.75% coupon Foreign Currency Convertible Bond (Bonds) offering, subject to fulfilment of certain conditions to the closing of the Issue. The Bonds are convertible at 10% premium over the closing price of the Companys shares on National Stock Exchange of India Limited on 5th November 2009 listed and bear a yield to maturity of 3.5% p.a. calculated on a semi-annual basis. These Bonds are expected to be listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange. Nomura is the Sole Underwriter and Book runner to the offering"....

In power sector it is the best company today. One should buy on every slide. It will reward investors generously....

EXpansion of consumers

Tata Power Company said it will be able to supply electricity to an additional 30,000 consumers in the city by March next year, reports Business Standard.

The private sector utility will begin power supplies in a month to 4,000 more consumers in Mumbai who have changed over from Reliance Infrastructure`s distribution network.

Tata Power has so far received and processed 3,000 to 4,000 applications for a change-over to TPC`s distribution network from mainly residential consumers in Mumbai`s suburbs
