dear friend, why would they increase thier stake in srf polymers. i know indirectly they are owning more shres in srf but till they dont merge how would they realise this benefit. now their stake is 75% in srf polymers beyond which they cant and wont raise stake due to the reasons known to all of us. they are now increasing stake to about 50% in srf. if they merge both these companies and extinguish the shareholding of srf polymers in srf, how much further increase in their holding in srf ould be. could u please let me know. then they cant sell part of the holdings in srf to some stupid fii and make more money.just a thought.

Sept. 19 (Bloomberg) -- SRF Ltd., the Indian tire cord and chemicals maker that purchased two companies overseas this year, plans to borrow about 2 billion rupees ($43 million) overseas to add capacity, Managing Director Ashish Bharat Ram said.
The company plans to spend 5 billion rupees this fiscal year to expand capacity, including setting up the country's first polyester tire cord factory, Bharat Ram, 39, said in an interview yesterday in Gurgaon, near New Delhi. SRF will also use its own cash for the expansion, he said.
SRF seeks to more than double revenue by the year ending March 31, 2012. The company purchased a tire cord maker in Thailand and a belting fabric maker in South Africa to increase sales overseas and is building up capacity to tap opportunities at home. It's expanding into making polyester fiber used for car radial tires and almost doubling packaging film capacity.
``Nobody makes polyester cords in India and growth in sales over the last six years has been healthy, with the replacement market for radial tires yet to pick up,'' Bharat Ram said. The demand for better ``hygiene and the concept of branding is creating a retailing boom.
The packaging industry has been growing at 15-17 percent and will grow at the same pace for the next five to seven years, Bharat Ram said.
Shares of SRF have declined 36 percent this year, compared with a 34 percent drop in the benchmark Bombay Stock Exchange Sensitive Index.
SRF is holding talks with some banks to borrow the money, Bharat Ram said, declining to name them. The money will be borrowed for five to six years, he said.
Net sales fell 11 percent to 16.8 billion rupees in the year ended March 31. Profit dropped 53 percent to 1.35 billion rupees as costs rose and the strengthening of the rupee against the dollar made imports of nylon tire cords and other technical textiles, which account for 58 percent of revenue, cheaper.
