It is very pity to see western style job cuts in india too.... where these emplyees will go after working in company like jet.... more than 50% of these employees must be having credit cards, more than 40% must be having pwesonal loans, more than 30% must be having vehicle loans, more than 20% might have tsken home loans.... what about their future, what about their banks future and what about their investors/depositors future.... if there are few more job cuts like this in other sectors too ,may lead to confirmed recession in india too.... pl note that there are clear signals in IT industry, already companies trimming their pay rolls.......

They were not `bin bulaye mehaman`. We invited them to join the party. Now they are deserting. We need to be impassionate as every one is rational in approach. Our MFs should do the same thing around the globe. Who stops them?
I only feel sorry for the genuine investor, whose portfolio is wiped out by 85%. When he will recover the loss? If there is long term loss, it can be set-off against long term gain, which are otherwise also non-taxable. Most of the small cap shares would go in coma for next two years. To that extent capital gets blocked. One should book profit in October only to remain liquid, as I feel that this is a last chance for the next 6 months at least.

What all the DTH and Cable service providers need to do is to start offering HDTV service. Recording can wait. People are already buying HDTV sets and they should start offering 1080p transmission. That said, the content should also be HDTV - Hope CNBC, NDTV and others are listening.
