uco bank is an excellent buy at the current rates. its fundamentals and track record is much better than united bank of india and also the trend in the pat, the eps quarter by quarter in 09-10 was 3.2 in june 09, 3.8 in sep 09, 4.5 in dec 09. even if we consider 4.5 in march 10 , the full year will be 16. its net npa% at 0.89 is much better than united of 1.30. united book value is not properly stated, ione needs to take out the huge capital resedve of 126 cr and then compute the book value. unted price band was 60-66 and issue got oversubscribed 33 times. UCO is coming out with an fpo of 6 crores of shares in april 10 and most likely the price band will be 70-75 and in order for issue to succed the mkt price has to be 75-80. incidentally dena which again is a weaker share on fundamentals thanuco is quoting at 77. thus uco can go to 75 very quickly and certainly before the FPO price band announcement...

Market was not so good since morning, it bounced back from 4990. At the same time, results are not good, down 40% from the last quarter...

It is a buy above 245, hold between 226-244 and stop loss 213.All prices on closing basis.We can expect higher targets as long as it remains above 245 since results are good....
