If you can afford to buy 1100 more shares (1800 = two FnO lots) at the bottomed-out rates, I can surely show you the way how you can offset 60% of your losses in less than six months. And, to achieve that much, you HAVE to prove your mettle as an efficient FnO trader ... and a trader full of conviction even in the current HOPELESS (well almost !) market scenario.

Considering the Unitech Valuation of 8400 crores from unitech side.. and hence 12400 - 8400 crores is 4000 crores. So it is worth to accumulate.. i am not sure whether it will go to 30 rupess or 20 rupees but it is better to accumulate is small quantities.. and increase the quantity of buy once the price goes lower. in the present scenario only big companies can survive and small developers will find lots of difficulty to get their finance.... the right time to buy is once the partner for Unitech telecom is announced... that is the only positive news awaiting for this company. apart from that the september quaterly results may be good and it will taken in the right spirit based on that day`s market conditions. so it is better to buy after the results and unitech telecom partner are announced. my views may be wrong but i need experienced boarders views on this...

Long term investers will make money only when they invest money in the bear market or during recession.

happy investing....

Unitech rings loud on telecom unit deal buzz .

Unitech jumped 9.10% to Rs 99.90 reports the real estate developer is in talks with Norwegian telecom group Telenor to sell a stake in its telecom venture Unitech Wireless.

On BSE, 11.99 shares were traded in the counter. The stock had an average daily volume of 22.21 lakh shares in the past one quarter.

The stock hit a high of Rs 100.90 and a low of Rs 95 so far during the day. The stock has a 52-week high of Rs 546.80 on 2 January 2008 and a low of Rs 80.05 on 10 October 2008.

The mid-cap stock had underperformed the market over the past one month till 13 October 2008, declining 40.96% as compared to the Sensex’s decline of 19.23%. It had also underperformed the market in the past one quarter, declining 46.01% as compared to the Sensex’s decline of 16.04%.

The company’s current equity is Rs 324.68 crore. Face value per share is Rs 2.

The current price of Rs 99.90 discounts Q1 June 2008 annualized EPS of Rs 7.42, a PE multiple of 13.46.

As per reports, Unitech is looking to sell a stake of around 40% in the venture to be branded Unitech Wireless for $1.5 billion to $2 billion. Unitech Wireless has licences to operate in India\`s 22 service areas and plans to launch services by March 2009. On 3 October 2008, Unitech Wireless received 4.4 megahertz of spectrum in the GSM band in Bihar.

In September 2008, Telenor said it was open to possible entry into India\`s growing mobile market, as part of its Asia-focused investment strategy. Telenor already operates in Pakistan and Bangladesh and says it is the second biggest non-Asian operator in Asia after Vodafone.

The Indian telecom market with 8-9 million mobile subscriber additions every month is the world\`s fastest-growing market for wireless services and the second-largest such market after China.

NEW DELHI/MUMBAI: Real estate developer Unitech is in talks with Norwegian telecom group Telenor to sell a stake in its nascent telecoms venture,

two financial market sources and an industry source said on Monday.

Earlier in the day, India`s telecom minister Andimuthu Raja said he was told Unitech had almost finalised a foreign partner and had entered into a term sheet with the firm.

Telenor said last month it was open to possible entry into India`s growing mobile market, as part of its Asia-focused investment strategy.

Telenor already operates in Pakistan and Bangladesh and says it is the second biggest non-Asian operator in Asia after Vodafone.

"The deal has been on for sometime and it`s almost been wrapped up. Barring last minute hitches, we should see it through," said one financial market source, who is not directly involved in the deal but is close to the developments.

The industry source, with direct knowledge of the deal, confirmed that Unitech was in talks with Telenor but also said separate discussions were on with another European telecoms firm.

"You will see an announcement in the next 10 days, whoever it is," he said.

The industry source said Unitech was looking to sell a stake of more than 40 per cent in the venture to be branded Unitech Wireless, which has licences to operate in India`s 22 service areas and plans to launch services by March 2009.

But he declined to be specific on valuations. Another financial market source, also not directly involved in the deal but aware of the developments, said Unitech was looking to raise $1.5 bn to $2 bn from the stake.

Last month, another Indian telecoms start-up, Swan Telecom, which has licences to operate in 13 service areas, sold a 45 percent stake to Emirates Telecommunications Corp for $900 mn, giving Swan a $2 bn valuation.

Unitech, with 22 licences, should be valued at a much higher price, the industry source said.

Unitech is India`s second-largest listed real estate firm. Earlier this year it got the licences through its subsidiaries and has been awarded radio spectrum in 12 of them so far.

Foreign players have been interested in picking up stakes in Indian telecom firms to cash in on the 8-9 mn mobile subscriber additions every month that make the country the world`s fastest-growing market for wireless services and the second-largest such market after China.

The house prices in hyderabad, bangalore and chennai are in the same range with 10 percent drop in few places. but the realty sector companies like unitech and dlf which has huge land bank have fallen quite sharply . in the case of unitech it has fallen close to 86 percent. i think it is better to sell the land or house and invest it in Unitech.
