ROFL - DM....Yes Scamsters active on MMB too.

I know, I have lived there for 2 years mate. Besides, even the MDs don`t get those perks I believe.

Well, the consequences were due to lack of confidence on my friends part. Without any interview, he was told he has been selected; and if he backed off, he would have to pay 100K GBP as penalty and other damage charges. LOL....

My friend was pretty tensed until I chipped in and wrote a reply to that mail; after which silence prevailed. LOL....

People falling pray to these offers are generally not strong mentally. I even know of cases where one friend of mine actually sent 2 lakh rupees of "processing fees" to such an offer where he "won" 1 million GBP in a lottery. I tried intervening and I was told that I was being jealous. Later he fell back to me if I could recover that money for him. LOL....

Cheers,
Rudra...

TO RUDRA,

Such offers are given only to MD level people and not to managers.

BTW, what were the consequences of just sending a CV

Hi Hansal,

Another recent classic example is that of Thinksoft IPO.

This IPO was initially in the band of 120 to 130 Rs. This was not fully subscribed and the promoters had to reduce the price.

All that they did is to reduce the price by 5 Rs and the band was 115 to 125 Rs.

Strangely this IPO got poor response from QIB which was only 0.3 times and from HNI it was 6.4 times and Retail 2.57.

The interesting part was that every one expected it to list below IPO price as the company was heavily dependent on few customers and BFSI segment is one of the worst effected by recession which the company is into.

I was watching the IPO price on CNBC and it was listed at around 130 Rs which was a surprise to me.

The bigger surprise was after 1 hour price started moving and it went to 140,150,160 levels.

Day 2, it started increasing and in 3 days it went to 200 Rs.

Everyday there was some movement or other and today it is at 300 plus levels.

I am not sure what changed suddenly in this scrip as it was not even fully subscribed where as heavily subscribed issues like NHPC and Indiabulls power flop miserably.

I will not be surprised if we see the price of thinksoft again around 100 levels in few months time. :)

Cheers,
Kanth

TO LIFAYLON,

I expect the spot on trend for jump and fall as you have mentioned. However, I think everyone knows that Jan will see tightening of stimulus and hike of CRR, etc.

With respect to Retail investors, I second what KANTH has said. There are suckers at every level, for both SHORT and LONG side.

Whether its greed of easy money, lack of knowledge, people do fall for traps. Add to that these fool analysts, media houses, fund houses such as CITI mislead people.

No one bought JINDAL SAW at 400 levels and now when it has reached 900, most expect a target of 1000+. There are countless other examples.

so much to eat and our PM has just gone through by pass surgery. What is the rule of God. Those who can eat have nothing to eat and those who can not eat have so much to eat. Any way Dipak thanks because of you I enjoyed the taste of so many veg dishes that too in White House.

This may have had as much to do with the vegetarian Prime Minister’s spartan taste as Obama’s own tryst with daal-roti when he was in college (his room-mate Vinai Thumullapally was among the invitees), although it was First Lady Michelle Obama who finalized it. Indeed, as predicted, some of the vegetarian fare, including the herbs, came from the First Lady’s White House vegetable garden. Indian touches included tomato chutney, green curry prawns, and coconut aged basmati. Hacks with a vivid imagination – and a hungry stomach – snarkily translated Red Lentil Soup into rajma, Chickpeas and Okra into cholay-bhindi, and cashew brittle into chikki.

There was a surprise in the person of A R Rahman (although this paper had predicted this) to give a ``jai ho`` to US-India ties; more than a one third of the 320 guests were Indians or Indian-Americans; and then, there were the settings (an exotic and tastefully plush shamiana with many Indian motifs) and the menu, which wasn’t exactly daal-chawal, but certainly had Indian elements to it.

There were plenty of `desi` touches to the Obamas’ glittering state banquet for Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his wife Gursharan PM Manmohan Singh with US President Obama at the White House.

Kaur from the time the US President toasted them before a 320-strong power elite with ``Aap ka swagat hain`` (we welcome you). Heck, someone joked, at this rate he might be addressing our Parliament in Hindi when he visits in 2010.

26 Nov 2009 20:46

Well, CLSA may be chasing short term money but long term investors have nothing to fear and ultimately it will be company`s profitability which will be key determining factor. With Tech Mahindra leadership, Satyam is sure to benefit in the long run and in any case it is going to be merged with Tech M. Last time Aberdeen sold 6% of Satyam shares @ Rs 20 when the Raju confession brought havoc to the stock. I only wonder how L&T sold the stake in Satyam before the arrest...... Does any one know about it.......

Will you sell Mah Satyam after CLSA’s exit call to investors?

Tumbling voice tariffs contributing to the declining average revenue per user (ARPU) rates, will result in SMS volumes to reach 191.6 billion in India by 2013, predicts Gartner.

By 2013, the country would have more than 750 million mobile connections; therefore the SMS usage per user would essentially drop.

However, overall large base of mobile connections would support this SMS volume. "Strong organic growth continues in Asia’s developing markets, with marginal subscribers turning to low-cost messaging as an entry-level service.

Dear patience,
Q
A Sucker is a Sucker be it intra day or be it positional.
UQ

May I add?

be it Fno or cash;

be it ST/MT or LT;

be it large/mid or small caps;

be it his own selection or recommended by others;

Dear Sumit

Positional or intraday play do not turn a sucker into a winner or vice versa. A Sucker is a Sucker be it intra day or be it positional. lol

I will not agree that positional traders are losers lol like you mentioned, at 3300 i bought NIFTY to keep till June and i earned handsomely if i had booked intraday i could not have made much.

Same time if something works well for you then you should stick with it and continue to do well.

Best regards
Patience...

Another email that I received sometime back with a too-good-to-be-true job offer:

1. It was "from" one of the famous tyre companies in UK, Michelin with very similar logo (but my internet skills found that it was not same and hosted on a separate server which was clearly not Michelin`s)
2. It was offering a Manager post. Location UK Michelin factory.
3. Salary 10K GBP per month.
4. Other benefits were, a 3 bedroom condo for which the company pays the rent, a BMW car for personal use with gas bill paid by the company....and many more...

I best part was, although the sender was saying he was from Michelin and even the tag of the mail id says "XYZ, Michelin", the actual mail id behind was a yahoo.co. uk ID. One of my friends actually sent his CV to that ID too with bad consequences. It is easy to trap people with this type of lucrative offers.

Rudra
