Ltd has informed the Exchange that the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, has vide its letter dated December 01, 2008 received by the Company on December 03, 2008, informed that the Company has been awarded the followings blocks, as per details hereunder, by the Government of India under the New Exploration Licensing Policy Round VII (NEPL VII). 1)Block Name: RJ-ONN-2005/1; Operator / Non Operator : Operator; Participating Interest of the company in the Block : 25% ; Block Area (sq.km.) : 1424. 2)Block Name: RJ-ONN-2005/2; Operator / Non Operator : Non Operator; Participating Interest of the company in the Block : 20% ; Block Area (sq.km.) : 1517. Ltd has informed the Exchange that ONGC, the licensee of Block CB-ON-7 has received the mining lease in relation to SPD Development area in Block CB-ON-7 on December 03, 2008. Consequent to the same, the Company has Commenced commercial production from the SPD-1 well located in SPD Development area. The initial rate of production is 100 barrels of oil per day. Hindustan Oil Exploration Company Ltd (HOEC) has informed BSE that ONGC, the licensee of Block CB-ON-7 has received the mining lease in relation to SPD Development area in Block CB-ON-7 on December 03, 2008. Consequent to the same, the Company has commenced commercial production from the SPD-1 well located in SPD Development area. The initial rate of production is 100 barrels of oil per day.

Hindustan Oil Exploration Co. Ltd has informed the Exchange that: "The Company has settled its ongoing dispute with DIOG Limited, the assignee in interest of Mosbacher India LLC (Mosbacher), holding 20% participating interest in the erstwhile Block CY-OSN-97/1, which was a subject matter of arbitration initiated by DIOG Limited before London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA). The Company has received an amount of USD 871,103 from DIOG in full and final settlement of all claims of either party against the other. The said amount would be appropriated against the outstanding cash call payable by DIOG and consequentially an amount of about Rs 17.38 million shall be written off. Both the Parties have written to the arbitral tribunal withdrawing their respective claims. Further, the arbitral tribunal has allowed the parties to withdraw their respective claims."...
