Bharati Airtel posts 44.86% growth

Bharati Airtel has posted a net profit of Rs 2046.79 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2008, registering a growth of 44.86 per cent compared to Rs 1412.92 crore for the same quarter previous year.



The company's total revenue during the first quarter of financial year 2008-09 stood at Rs 7952.32 crore, reflecting a growth of 39.72 per cent over the same quarter last year.


Bharati airtels had 7.17 crore subscribers as on June 30, 2008, an increase of 61 per cent over the corresponding period last year.


The company's total market share in India's wireless subscribers rose to 24.2 per cent from 23.1 per cent last year.
