A TYPICAL market reaction in times of a downturn: investors start scouting for safer investment avenues. It\\\\`s no different this time round. Investors are shifting focus to high dividend yield shares.

These stocks offer a high dividend payout in comparison to their share price. In the Indian scenario, one can find such stocks usually amongst public sector Units. So, the dividend yield is the latest dividend declared per share or current market price.

USP of companies issuing dividend yield stocks

1. They are usually stable and have a history of consistent profitability. They also have a dividend payment track record.

2. In case of a market crash, the share price of these companies is likely to fall less as compared to the so-called growth stocks, thus making them comparatively low-risk defensive stocks.

3. If inflation is controlled, we may see interest rates moving downwards, over the next six to 12 months. Thus the dividend yield may even work out more than bank interest rates.

4. These companies have the potential for capital appreciation (medium to long-term) once the markets recover. So, you can expect to earn a decent recurring income and capital gains over time.
the chennai petroleum is the best in these stocks and also favouring to any type of investors . the divident payout is on coming months . happy investing

22nd Aug is the ex dividend date. The difference between cash & future price is due to fact that in future/option you will not get 120% dividend, that is why in future price is less by around 10 rupees

the reasonable price for this stock is near about 550 level but sure that it won\\`t reach that level. now the dividend- this script always gives a very good dividend and have very good reserve of money and expecting an bonus from the company in short.
my suggestion to all the small investors are buy this script for an amount 6000 rs (may be 20shares) and keep it in your portfolio surely it will be cheerful experience for you
this will be better than an any FD
happy investing

iam small investor but chennai petroll gives a good opportunity to buy at 280 to 295 range and sell at some 330 range which gives reasonable return also the divident is also good.daily fuctuation so wide so even the delivery trading favours for short term investors.
not sure why its fluctuate this much and always keep in this level but may be because some of the people don\\`t want it go high since it is a sure bet on return but only the market can tell the truth

Chennai Petro an excellent buy
the company came out with excellent results. Maybe it didn’t react that much to the results.but it may explode it 52 week high any time
The company has posted excellent results, ahead of the market expectations for the quarter ended June’08. The topline of the company has grown by over 81 % from Rs 62217 million clocked Q1FY08 to Rs 112532 million in Q1FY09. EBITDA stood at Rs 11688.70 million up by over 71.74 % from the previous quarter and 97 % higher than Rs 5914 million clocked in Q1FY08. Net profit stood at Rs 7032.70 million against Rs 3231.50 million posted in the corresponding quarter last year, showing a whopping YoY growth of near 117%.
Keeping in view the bright prospects of the company, continue to remain bullish on the stock and have upgraded our previous target of Rs 348 by 22 per cent to Rs 427 in the long term investment horizon, implying an appreciation of approximately 47 per cent from the present level of Rs 291
so why to wait invest ur profit in this company earn daily profit...

issue any time due to solid reserves. Reserves shall increased
as soon as fin yr ends showing more then 400 book value. The EPS
shall come to Rs.180/- per share giving more then 100% rise.
