India Bureau Chief, PharmAsiaNews.com informed CNBC-TV18 that Dr Reddy’s Labs will form a new dermatology company in the US and is to be named Promius Pharma. Promius handles branded speciality dermatology products. He added that Promius will have its own marketing, product devlopment and licensing arrangment. The US prescription skincare and cosmoceutical market is seen at USD 10 billion. Meanwhile, Dr Reddy’s has refused to divulge details of the US derma company, he said.

Dr. ReddyS Laboratories Ltd. had informed the Exchange regarding outcome of the Annual General Meeting of the Company held on July 22, 2008. The Company has now informed the Exchange with reference to Item 8 of the outcome of the Annual General Meeting of the Company that, the proposed issue of 84,06,782 share warrants resulting into equity shares of Rs.5/- each at a later date of preferential basis in terms of Section 81 (1A) of the Companies Act, 1856 to Dr. Reddys Holdings Private Limited, as approved at the Annual General Meeting of the Company held on July 22, 2008 stands cancelled / withdrawn as the issue / allotment has not taken place in terms of Chapter XIII-Clause 13.1.2.3(a) and Clause 13.4.1 of SEBI (Disclosure& Investor Protection) Guidelines, 2000. Pursuant to this, the Company has withdraw its application made to the stock exchanges earlier, for in-principle approval sought in respect of the above shares....

Further, please note that Dr. Reddys Holdings Pvt Ltd, a company privately held by the promoters has begun acquiring shares from the opee market. This is what real promoters who believe in the future of their company do - they just buy when they think it is a good price. They do not announce a buyback at up to 750 (unlike the DLFs and the Reliance Infras... lol)

Dr Reddy's has lost almost 20% in the last 1 month - the latest trigger being the announcement that it will go out of Nifty in Sept to make room for RPower. This is a good defensive bet for long term, and can be accumalated on dips.

The Q1 results are poor.... buying back perlecan from icici&citi could lead to financial burden in the near term.... pl note that venture capitalists exiting from this subsidiary after seeing the flopped performance....

The target is very well achieved today.... the scrip is being removed from nifty also.... pl note that recently it has been exited from sensex....
Why they included this scrip in main indicies and why removing now.... illogical behaviour of sensex/index committee....
There are whispers among few market participants that these sensex/index comittees keep the scrips in indicies whoever gives more money to them as perks....
Inclusion of reliance petro and reliance power in indicies raises lot of doubts.... pl note that both the companies are not doing any great business right now.......

One can buy Dr Reddy both for short term trading as well for medium term investment.Moreover, during such rough patches in market when every stock is viewed with scepticism, pharma and FMCG tends to be contrarian plays....

At 10:41 am, Dr Reddys Laboratories was quoting at Rs 599.95, down Rs 28.1, or 4.47%. It has touched an intraday high of Rs 621.50 and an intraday low of Rs 595. It was trading with volumes of 32,980 shares. Yesterday the share closed down 1.06% or Rs 6.70 at Rs 628.05.
