I have purchased GDL in staggered manner and present average value is Rs 115 per share. Is it advisable to hold these share or sell off during the recent upmove because of Buy back offer.
After Buy back by the company what happens to the share price. Any trend anybody has observed in stock market. Would be grateful if anybody can throw some views in this regard....

Buy back will not be from individual share holders. It will be from the market at a price NOT ABOVE Rs 110 per share and upto a total of 10% of company's shares. The company would start buying from open market and may have already started doing it. That is why the stock prices have moved up. The advantage would be for all the share holders because paid up capital would come down by 10% and EPS will go up by about 11% since the profit will be divided amongst lesser number of shares (90% of the present). Company had surplus funds at its disposal hence the shares bought back will be delisted and total number of floating shares will come down.
