It is good buy:consistent performance, good divident pay out, has not seen much run up recently like other stocks, if it gains the attention of traders and speculators it can jump in leaps and bounds-has seen the level @Rs170- in the last peak- substatial real estate holding which could be monetised, hived off into a separate company fetching additional shares. To sum up a vey good buy:I have a substatial holding in this company and I am a long term investor ...

Sorry pkb123, I dont track this stock:my advise would be, if you are not a trader, go for low PE stocks and when the Businesss Model ensures stable earnings with predictable cyclical changes.
Look at what happened with all the Telecom stocks,Airline stocks, and even Software stocks (Analysts were reccommending with about 30%-40% y-o-y growth in mind )etc:they were always high PE stocks and analysts were reccomending based on potential 2/3 year forword earnings and assuming they will grow the way they grew in the past . But it does`nt always happen that way.

With Banks, in which I mormally invest-Dena/Allhabad Bank/UCO etc.- , they are normally low P/E hig Book Value stocks and cyclical Earning Profile. For instance if RBI, in case of high inflation sucks liquidity out of Banks the earnings could come down margnally- but never to the extent analysts make noise- but again make up when the Liquidity is released when the inflation is tammed.Banks also report losses on their treasurry portfoio during High inflation/High interest time (Repo/Reverse Repo, when used by the RBI) time, but again when the interets rate comes down the Banks report hefty treasurry gains
Say in the above category, if you want to invest in Steel Comapny I would prefer SAIL:while it enjoys a stable Business Model the entry barrie is quiet high with land issues these days:Accr. Mital/Posco etc. have been struggling for so long with no sucess and existing players will enjoy the benifit

Make informed choice, especially if you are a passive long term investor

And, thanks for soliciting my views and sorry, once again, that I am not able to help

Cool Bull, Naughty Sachin & others
who feel comfortable with PSU Bank kind of Fundamnetals: well defined business model, low risk, high Book value, low PE, dividents etc.
In the same basket one could Place Deepak Fertilizer: consistent perfromance, price to Book rougly 1, low PE, hasn`t seen much run up in the recent run up, had seen a peak of @Rs160-and, therefore a possibility- into real estate, half of which only has been moneytised & a chance that it may be hived off into a separate comapany- means some additional shares-and, more importantly consistent divident pay outs-one could expect Rs 4or4.5 this year as pay out out Rs 16/17 it may earn.
I have good holding& want to increase further
People who can see through the numbers to please ponder & sahre their thoughts
