HDFC BANK Q2 NET PROFIT 528 CR

HDFC Bank on Thursday announced a net profit of Rs 527.98 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, while it had a net profit of Rs 368.48 crore in the corresponding period a year-ago.
The total income rose to Rs 4,634.32 crore for the quarter under review, whereas it was Rs 2,845.14 crore in the year-ago period, HDFC Bank informed the Bombay Stock Exchange. Earlier this year, the bank had merged Centurion Bank of Punjab with itself. H ence, the results for the quarter are not comparable with that of the corresponding period last year, the filing stated.
For the six months ended September 30, the bank`s total income stood at Rs 8,849.5 crore, while it was at Rs 5,486.80 crore in the corresponding period a year-ago. Further, it reported a net profit of Rs 992.3 crore in the six months. As of September qu arter, the bank`s capital adequacy ratio stood at 11.4 per cent.

HDFC Bank Ltd has announced the following Unaudited results for the quarter ended September 30, 2008:
The Bank has posted a net profit of Rs 5279.80 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2008 where as the same was at Rs 3684.80 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2007. Total Income is Rs 46343.20 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2008 where as the same was at Rs 28451.40 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2007.
The results for the quarter and half ended September 30, 2008 includes operations of erstwhile Centurion Bank of Punjab Ltd. (eCBoP) for the same period, on amalgamation of eCBoP with HDFC Bank Ltd. with effect from the appointed date of April 01, 2008 as per the Scheme of Amalgamation (Scheme). Hence the results for the quarter and half-year ended September 30, 2008 are not comparable with that of the corresponding period of the previous year....

Also keep in mind that mutual funds hav rduced their holding from 1.4 cr shares in Aug to 71lakh shares in Sep. They have already sold and made money. But they want to off load the remaining, so they will give a buy call soon.
Be cautious of these experts who do not have personal stake but are out to show how much info they have. ...

why the cbop merger still not reflected in stock price?
it is not going down or up?
even if no of shares increased(alloted to CBOP holders) eps has not gone down why?
was the CBOP balance sheet that good?
if then why the share price is not going up?

remember buffets words "dont think of holding a stock for 10 mins if u cant hold it for 10 years,the stock should be worth holding even if the stock market remains closed for another 10 years ".I think HDFC BANK is such a good one you can hold on even if market remains closed.
