MUMBAI: Tata Power on Friday announced a net profit of Rs 190.55 crore for the first quarter of the current fiscal, against a net profit of Rs 190.20 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal.

The revenue rose to Rs 2,026.13 crore in the latest quarter, from Rs 1,511.48 crore in the year-ago period, the power utility said in a filing to Bombay Stock Exchange.

The results of the quarter are not comparable with the year-ago period as the company had undertaken certain regulatory adjustments in the accounting method, it said.

“All our generating units are running at high plant load factor leading to higher generation and enhanced efficiencies. Our future growth plans are in accordance with the expectations of our stakeholders and the growth continues as per our stated objecti ve,” Mr Prasad R Menon, Managing Director of Tata Power said.

Earlier this week Tata Power had said it has agreed to acquire a 26 per cent stake in a Bhutan-based hydroelectric project of 114 MW capacity.

It would deliver the power at the India-Bhutan border, the company said. Shares of the company were trading at Rs 1,018.10, down 2.97 per cent in the late afternoon trade on the BSE. - PTI
