Dear Be and Make

Thanks again. only exit from f&O. Still my 4000 share are @166. as you suggested to hold.

So what now? what do you think about the market and RPL.
IS there any call from your side!

Is there any chance that rpl will bounce back to at least 166 level!! any time frame :)

IV Subramanium, Director, Quantum AMC, is not selling out even in the rapidly-falling markets. “Overall, the Indian industry doesn’t look as problematic as one thinks it is; barring those companies which require a huge amount of capital which right now is drying up rapidly,” he says, adding that, “If your idea of investing is to bottom-fish, then you may want to wait. But if you are reasonably sure that you are trying to invest in good companies with reasonably good valuations then one can go ahead and invest.”...

In the case of the Indian market, 50% down from the all time high is an excellent level for it to start putting in a base. Once we have made that base, confidence will return and then we will find the value pickers coming in because they can identify good value, they just don’t have the confidence yet....

My advice to investors would be that this is a very good time to get into the market and start investing in the market

and if people do not invest in the market at the current level, I feel they would be committing the same mistake, which they have done by not selling the stocks at 21,000 levels.”...

Portfolio Manager PN Vijay feels it’s difficult to say if there is more bad news today. “We have been dancing to global cues for the previous one month. Hopefully, these cues will play themselves out soon,” he says.

“Domestically, things look much better now with inflation lower than previous levels and interest rates likely to come down in about two months,” Vijay said.

“The package got passed on Friday and that is also good news. Economically, India is the least affected by the developments in the US".

dear boarders - Mukesh again proved that he will do anything for his benefit. He just converted the shares which are purchased at 1400/- only because of the reason that he is not willing to go for open offer. (He is not looking what he is loosing, he is loosing the reputation/belief He is just ignoring his investors also.
This is not good for long term.

RPL top gainer on the Nifty

Dear chugh – don’t believe these business men they run their business to prosper themselves only and that too mukesh’s abilities are not up to the mark when compared to the dhirubhai ambani.
When mukesh believes that there is ‘steady growth’ then why he sold the 4% share at the price of 224/- having the worth of 4000cr without prior intimation. So many small investors badly hammered during that phase.
Mukesh exited from their retail oil outlets and closed all the oil bunks there too those who believed mukesh were hammered badly (of course it may not have any connection with the stock price)
Similarly now he starts reducing retail stores as they are delivering much to the holders.

These all are not failures of the big man? Ultimately the losing person was who believed in him isn’t right?

(Don’t confuse that I am bearish on MAD group, I have huge holdings in this group but facts should be commented.)
With thanks

If RPL breaches the 140+ level firmly then the support would be at 120+

The main reasons for the down grading the price target:
1. Global financial crisis damaged the sentiment.
2. At home we are having very weak fundamentals like high inflation, interest rates,
Govts huge fiscal deficit, upcoming elections, a dip in GDP etc.,
3. Production is not ahead of schedule as announced by the management but is either in nov/dec.
4. Due to the start of commercial production in dec08 then the expected EPS would be around 6 for FY09.
5. All the leading analysts like Kotak, Merryl, downgraded the stock and put the price target of 150/- as the high (previously it was at 208/-)
6. Globally GRMs dropping
7. There are somany political uncertainities on Mukesh group and amar singh is trying to use every opportunity to create vulnerable conditions on RIL like ban on EOU status, ban on oil exporting etc., but in my they are not easy to change for a particular company hence they may not be as easy as amar said. But, the government is considering the imposition of a minimum alternate tax (MAT) on units in SEZ like RPL. MAT would mean an 8-9% cut in RPL's FY09-FY11E earnings and 4% (Rs6/share) cut in its PO.
8. Chevron stance still unclear.
9. One more important point is that RPL is having very high debt equity ratio, around 3. In these high interest rate times the companies will be will have high debt/equity ratio will badly hammered in margins. So, in this point RPL too have impact on its margins and will further effect the bottom line.
Yes, definetly there will be a spike in the upcoming days but I will not give any trading call and my advice is to use this rally to cover your positions and re-enter at lower levels.
With thanks
Be and make

I am not denying the market cannot Tank further as you are quite right that the impact of Europe has still not discounted and may take the markets to new lows.

Situations is pretty bad but i am hoping that Govt may act now and can take various measures to hold our market with ban on shortselling OR by reducing circuit filters OR by increasing liquidity CRR cut OR thru P Notes.
