the reason may be I started investing in this secter in, may be Mid 2005.

Now what to do with the holdings in IT?

it is really a very difficult situation, if one does not require funds for any other than investment, the best keep holding, will definetely get good returns in 2 to 3 years, amy be all time highes....

I am always a learner and learn from the opinion of the others and in the current situation one has to depend on the guidance from the other fellow boarders, and the way IT is aheaded it becoming a bit difficult to bleave your own thoughts.

Earlier RBI cuts the repo rate and CRR, better it will be for the industry and consumers, it is already blead too much....

The way market is moving, sometime I think of of liquidating my holding and look for any better chance.

I will be greatful to have your opinion on this.

I have seen the bearish phase during the Harshad Mehta, Ketan Parikh and now and have not been able to do anything during the two bearish phases. But, this time from Oct.07 to Feb-Mar,08 I have taken out more than my investment (invested in last more than 25 years) and till date the value of the portfolio I am holding is more than my total investment. This has only been made possible because I required money for some other than investment purposes.

But one thing is there the value of my portfolio in Mar,08 was three time what it is today. This really make me a little sad.

Any how, no regrets, now I require money only after two to three years for some other than investment purposes.

Dear, I have been bearish for the last couple of years because I am working in this sector and also involved in mid level activities. IT sector will no more be an outperformer in near future due to the following reasons. i) IT biggies are unable to move up the value chain ii) India does not have salary advantages any more. In fact, I believe that we are overpaid!! iii) MNCs have been doing backward integration. So, they are now competing with Indian companies but Indian companies are not able to move up. so, they can`t compete with MNCs. iv) All world leading companies have built their competencies based on domestic market. Unfortunately, our domestic IT demand is not matured enough to build leader. v) IT biggies have grown too much too fast. Pyramid is not proper anymore. Everyone is manager!! yes KARUNAS, it is a big national loss but whose nation it is! When it comes to the individual pockets, your or my share is so small and nobody can see how drops can make a sea. Likewise, today none of us is bothered about the nation, INDIA. It is our narrow lanes after that our village or mostly our countituency that matters. When we see people talk about giving away Kashmir just for a few votes, emotional issues like marathi or gujrathi, sometimes I feel that I should not have born here. A country of divided houses! But we have people to talk so much about what happens to the tamil speaking people in Srilanka and not about those millions of poor people who do not even kow where Srilanka is. And we have people who oppose the tatas or ambanis from starting a big business by which millions can be fed and the nation can take some benefit. Now a time has come, we may have to suffer a lot as the global smoke is enterig into our country. Who bothers about it! We can always talk about OUR PEOPLE, OUR CASTE, OUR LANGUAGE AND OUR PARTY that is what is required to get a few votes and a few seats - we have seen the value of even a single seat which grows bigger than a govt.
