Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd has informed BSE that the Shareholders of the Company, by way of postal ballot, have approved the following resolutions at the deemed Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) held on October 06, 2008, as under:
1. Consent pursuant to the provisions of section 372A to make loans, give guarantees or provide security and make investments upto a limit not exceeding Rs 4000 Crores.
2. Consent pursuant to section 293(1) (d) to borrow upto Rs 4000 Crores.
3. Consent pursuant to section 293 (1) (a) of the Companies Act, to create a mortgage and / or charge over all the movable and immovable properties of the Company....

We can see glenmark hovering around 430. Its a best buy opportunity.
Taking into a/c that today it has break imp support level. But in worst case gt may go down to 390. But no one can guess d exact bottom. So according to me its a best time to buy nd hold d same 4 long time to have a good return.

firstly it was planned in d 1st qtr of a
FY09. then i don`t heard any news on that. any one has any update regarding that?
will there be any benefit to current shareholders on Glenmark generic-Glenmark demerger??

Perfectly said guys. I respect your words and agree with you. I am tracking this company from last 2 years now and it is becoming stronger and stronger day by day. I expect glenmark to reach 1400+ by 2011 September that is 3 eyars down the line. Even i have some stake in it and it is really a good stock.
Guys what about Divi's Lab?? Anybody tracking that script??Looks interesting to me.

Short term overvaluation resulting from the stock price running ahead of its present fundamentals,possible near-term slow down in earnings, sinking in in the minds of the investors of the inherent risks of the company`s new drug discovery programme, slowing down of the positive news flow over the last six months, overall bearish market conditions and FII selling of core holdings to meet their financial commitments elsewhere - all these factors have combined to bring the stock price of Glenmark down.
However, things can dramatically change for the better for the scrip with Glenmark suddenly announcing any new drug outlicencing deal or aquisitions in US/ Europe.
Glenmark is a risky bet but can be the scrip of one`s life bringing in unthinkable gains. Probably the best way to have Glenmark in one`s portfolio is to hold it for at least 7-9 years and to forget that one holds the scrip all these years. Needless to say therefore,that one should hold the Glenmark scrip to the extent of one`s risk taking capacity only. But this is one scrip that can give the shareholder money to build a home on the moon.

hi sumit,
its a quite unusual move for such a strong scrip like glenmark. its down by 200 points from 650 levels from where it has start consolidation.
currently, some of the fune houses are selling this scrip. there`s nothing new in that. its their routine work. if some of d houses are selling, some other will buy it.
some of the brokerage houses have cut its target. iifl has cut its target. even motilal oswal is neutral on this stock. but all this targets are around 600.
450 is d level where it has strong support and most probably will not break this one on closing basis. dont know intra-day. pray god. bcoz it breaks 450 levels then next level of support may be around 390.
if we talk about its fundamentals, than arpan nd lm both are correct. it has gr8 fundamentals. its growing very fast. among d best pharma co of india rather say alone co which has very good market in europe nd usa. its a co with investor friendly management.
i dont know wat FII`s doing. bcoz AIG had a good stake in it. if u have any info than share it. plz.
hope. will soon come out of this down trend and will back on track in 1.5 to 2 months . and its 1 year targeT may be around 1000. its my personal opinion.

you are absolutely correct. Glenmark has its own reputation and it can not be compared with ranbaxy.
i m backing ur msg eventhough today big sell-off in market overall and same as in glenmark.
these are good chances to buy glenmark. i m holding this co from its inception. it has given remarkable 5000% return in its journey.
Glenmrak has its own strong research centre and most of its products get approval by FDA. Its a company with strong base and decent future vision.
Currently, some of the fund houses selling it. it's may be their liquidity needs or whatsoever. they all will return in this scrip sharply and after that we will not get chance to buy it.
This scrip is for long-term investors. and in next 1 year it may touch 1000 or above. it is immaterial what would be m-cap and price of Ranbaxy.!!!!!!
Short-term investors, dont burn your fingers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
