Yes u r absolutely right, Tisco has paid 1000 cr. advance tax against 450 cr previous quarter.

Tatas decision to buy out Corus came from mere talks----------------------NEW DELHI: Tata Steel's, now the world's sixth largest steel maker, decision to bid for Anglo Dutch entity Corus sprouted from mere discussions in late 2005 between the two companies on how they could work together, says a new book.
And when the idea of a buyout was mooted by Tata Group Chairman Ratan Tata, even Tata Steel s Managing Director B Muthuraman and the then Deputy Managing Director Tridibesh Mukherjee were taken back.
They perhaps did not take his words very seriously, says the book on Tata Steel published by Penguin.
During a meeting with Corus Chief Executive Philippe Varin, a statement from him struck Ratan Tata making him ponder over a possible acquisition, says the book 'A Century of Trust, The Story of Tata Steel'.
"Corus and Tata Steel have capacities of 20 and 5 million tonnes respectively. Corus and Tata Steel have approximately the same market value and have similar product lines. Can we not put our businesses together in some meaningful way?" Varin had said.
After pondering over having a grander alliance with Corus, Ratan Tata told Muthuraman and Mukherjee, "Look, we are wasting our time on these smaller issues. Why don t we look at buying Corus?"
"Both of them were a little taken aback and did not take Tata's words seriously", the book says.
Later during another meeting, Ratan Tata stated categorically that whatever structure was decided upon, the identity of Tata Steel would have to remain intact.
In early 2007, Tata Steel snapped up Corus for little more than 11 billion dollars after edging out Brazil s CSN with a higher bid of 608 pence per share.
The book notes that once the news of Tata Steel winning the auction for Corus emerged early morning, Ratan Tata celebrated quietly by sipping fruit juice.
"It was perhaps too early in the morning for champagne. The more knowledgeable say that Ratan Tata has no special penchant for alcohol," says the book.
Chronicling the history of Tata Steel, the book says the idea of Tata Steel germinated in the early days of British Raj, if the legend is to be believed, from just a lecture delivered by Scottish historian Thomas Carlyle.
In 1867, legendary JRD Tata fired up by the historian's words, "the nation which gains control of iron soon acquires the control of gold," envisioned the setting up of a iron and steel factory in India, said the book.
Though JRD Tata did not live to see his dream come true, his son Dorabji Tata established Tata Iron and Steel about forty years later in 1907.
On the difficulties faced by Dorabji Tata in setting up the company, the book quotes Frederick Upcott, the then Chairman of the Railway Board.
He told Page Perin, the consulting engineer of New York who was working for establishing the firm, "Do you mean to say that the Tatas propose to make steel rails up to British specifications? Why, I will undertake to eat every pound of rail they succeed in making."
On hearing this, the book said, Dorabji made the following wry comment: If he had carried out his undertaking, he would have had some slight indigestion.
