hold on the shorts for today. Stock had a technical pullback and will erase the gains today itself. Target of 585 will be ideal to cover the remaining 50% of the position...

Target of 585 is on cards in tommorow's session for those who have shorted Tata Steel between 680-700 and will provide excellent profit opportunity in next couple of session. They should not forget to cover up their position at regular intervals

Demand of steel is weaking globally and price of steel will fall by end of 2008. Also it will affect the bottomline drastcially, sell the Tata Steel and current price level to minimize your loss....

depends on how things pans out further. But 585 target is within reach for Tata Steel. If it fell below 575 then 530/495 targets are not a impossible. Everyone was bullish at 700 level also on Tata Steel. But today it fell below 600. How much time is required for it to touch 500. It can do it within 2 session if speculators unwind their position in the stock as debt burden is going to hit the company most. Company also increased their borrowing limits to 40000 crore. Means additional 20000/-cr debt burden and interest will double from here depending on interest rates which are not likely to come down in immediate term. Thus it is possible for Tata Steel to touch 500 which can provide best opportunity to buy into stock

any sell call does not mean that the stock will go into tailspin immediately. it takes time to do the same. You may hve seen that Tata Steel and SAIL have got unwinding in a big way as mentioned in previous messages. Sell call on banking call was not blanket. Sell at every rise and sell immediately is different. Now IIP nos are out and anylysts are saying that these are better. But expectations are 5.95% and actual nos are 5.40. This growth is on the lower base thus making them unattractive. As nos hit the wires, market recovered to go into tailspin as traders came to know the actual growth...

Dear marketbear,

With due respect to your analysis... I do not intend to point out the failed calls... only that the ones which have failed are the onese that I have. :-) I know is a pretty coincidence... but that's the truth and so I am concerned only about what you have said about those companies.

What I intended to point out was not the bear calls... but the exactness of the calls... banking stocks did not fall after the inflation data as you had pointed out. Same goes for BHEL also.

I hope I have been able to clear my point of view to you.

If you ask me, I have booked profits in BHEL, BOB, BOI, Siemens in the this intermediate run... and am doing so continuously.

Coming to precisly the point of being bearish... what do you think will trigger the next round of selling? Oil is doing good for the time being. IIP numbers are awaited... then there is this meet of SEBI to reconsider about FII participation... apart from this do you see any trigger from the fundamental perspective?

Please do reply...

Regards Sourav

Tata Steel closed closed weak as was expected with pressure on SAIL also. The sentiment is likely to continue further. Fall below 625 for Tata Steel and 138 for SAIL will trigger further correction upto 584 and 124 respectively for them. Hold on the shorts

wait for a while. seel downward movement in the market in next few session. All calls cannot be right for any analyst in the world. Thus strength in the banking sector should be used to pare the holdings in the sector. Though some calls on the stocks may have gone reverse their some calls which have gone right. You should have pointed those calls also. It is easy to point out mistakes but appreciating the right calls is not easy for all, specifically bear calls because almost 75% people in india are only bulls and don't like to book profits and they think that direction for the market is only up. They fly away from the market in case of downward movement and become incapable to buy at lower level because of loosing their capital in mid and small caps by trying quick bucks. Our calls on Tata Steel, SAIL, Reliance, Ranbaxy,Tata Power, SBI, ACC, Ambuja Cements are the few examples of right calls on the bull or bear side as recommended by us.

weak sentiment for Tata Steel will continue next week as well as there is no improvement in newsflows from any circle for steel sectors. Tisco may fall upto 585 level this week on weak global metal prices which will put pressure on the sales of metal sectors

Dear marketbear,

You seem to be bearish not only on tisco but on other well known scrips as well, while I do not see any reason for this sudden bearishness.. atleast in the immediate future.

Tomorrow should be a good day for the market... am not sure about tisco but your other sell calls on bhel, bank of baroda and bank of india have failed.. infact these scrips have gone up after your sell call... and I'm quite sure they will rise further up tomorrow as well... but yes I also agree that as of now the upward movement will not be more than 20-15% from here...

Stock cannot recover because of weak global metal prices which will directly play dent on the revenues of the stock. Any proposal of government to ban on steel products having no imported inputs will hit Tata Steel most as Tata Steel have got more captive consumptions rather tha imported materials. Government may take such step to bring down inflation as steel prices has 21% weightage in WPI
