Extract from Business Line- Possibly, this is much clearer:
However, whether SEBI would allow BNP to make the offer at the original offer price of Rs 26 a share is not certain. According to analysts, SEBI may ask the French bank to revise the price as Geojit shares are currently traded at around Rs 43.If BNP offers a higher rate and is able to get 20 per cent through the open offer, it will have the controlling stake in the company.
The moot point is, to acquire another 20% i.e. 40m shares, will the offer be at 43 considering the profile/shareholding pattern in the company? Will retail shareholders hold tight or dock the shares because of sheer frustration to get quick in short time? Is patience a virtue in this case and do we see testing times ahead?...

Time period for conversion of warrants into shares expires and the company has asked SEBI for extention of time to effect the conversion. Delay in getting the clearance being due to objection of commodity business raised by RBI. With offer of IRS 26 and CMP of 42, SEBI may request BNP for revised offer to get the controlling stake in the company. Will shares be offloaded at CMP?...
