Hey if one sings raag darbari perfectly one has an apparition of Akbar...what more u want... i love mohammedan culture... i like urdu and i always think of how the days of Taj Mahal would have been.. did u see the pic of deported pak president Mush and his wife in front of tajmahal...very becoming.. do u think mush is handsome?...

Infact BIRBALs name means a lot *Bir*- *Bal* bestowed by Akbar..... Do a googol on Akbar & Birbal... Ull find very very interesting stories.. I use to love reading those.. his real name was, i guess, MAHESH DAS

yes birbal stories are intersting.. my hubby would read it out to the kid every time... and both would laugh and have fun and i thanked god silently for birbal and free time from my kid... lol lol

After Tansen entered Akbar's service he was recognized almost immediately as one of the nine jewels of the court.
Tansen composed two raagas DARBARI KANNADA and MIYA KE MALHAR especially for Akbar... yes READ IT as especially for Akbar...
If you play Darbari correctly you will see an image of Akbar, sitting on his throne, raising a rose to his nostrils.
Has anyone sung darbari correctly and had this apparition?...

Tansen, Akbar's chief musician was really Tansen Pandey. His father's name was Markanda Pandey. Pandey is derived from PANDA (priest) which means they were a brahmana family.
Markanda Pandey was unsuccessful at siring a child until he started to perform devotional services for one fair named Mohammed Gous who lived near him.
One day when he was a in a peculiar mood he called the Brahmana over to him and spit in his palm and then put the spit in a paan. He told Markaranda, *Eat this and your work will be done*. He did, and it was; Tansen was the result.
The bigoted brahmanas called him a mohammaden for eating the spittle of a Mohammedan.
Makaranda replied *All right, then i am a Mohammedan* :) :)
And so Tansen was reared as a Muslim.
With this background i will narrate an interesting incident in Tansen's life.
