I am not an expert.
I am just a hobbyist.
And I am here to learn and share.

My mantra:

You don't need to be 100 % percent right!

You just need to be more than 50% Right to make a profit!

You cannot time the market, and you don't have a enter at 1 and exit at 10. 1 being Bottom and 10 being peak.

Try to enter at 3-4 and exit at 7-8.

Don't think of making 100% profit

Technicals are usually more right than wrong.

I believe in Technical Charts, because most of the Movers and Shakers (all of them) follow it, and when they think a point triggers a Buy Call, all of them buys and the stock goes up and the reverse is also true.

It is not that Technicals are always correct, but because Many People Think Technicals are correct. When so many thinks that a stock will climb from one point onwards, it should climb, more than 50% times.

Only remember that there are also many people out there who don't believe in technicals as well, otherwise there would be only buyers or sellers at any given point of time :)

For trading purpose, I also read momentary trends of Increase or decrease in Total Buy and Sell quantity of a stock. Not the exact quantity but the rate at which the quantities increase or decrease.

The jump was due a change in accounting, so real change in profit won't be as good.

We can't jump to conclusions before we hear some analysts.....

Thanks for the explanation.. I never thought in this dimension. Because I would have gone on and buy a lot of 500 in the above scenario.....

Correct me if I am wrong, but "by more risk", I think it the degree of loss you are exposed in futures assuming that cash if 100% your own....

Then as an astute trader, he should settle for the common good of both brothers.....

Completely agreed. This post was originally drafted and posted to write a long term BUY call for RPL in the RPL thread.
That just when Oil was getting scarce RPL is there with the largest refinery that can also process low quality crude.. :)

I modified it here to reply to one the threads that was mocking someone when a call went wrong to state that not every call is right even for the most astute investors... ...

I know about the reserves. Please see my reference to ANWR..
I am not talking about reserves going out, even though they will go out eventually.. EVen 100 years is not very long you see.. But that was not the point.

The point is that The American Oil Cos are not exploring.. Not spending enough on exploration and creating refining capacity helping in keeping the price high..

Anyway Thanks for taking time to reply :)

BTW.. Congratulations.. The LEFT is OUT officially......
