I think company has posted good results. But other fundamentals have not seen. It is better to see about other fundamentals before taking any decision. EPs for 2008 is 3.58 and Q1 EPS is 9.60 (38.4 annualised)Promotors hold 58.63% in the company out which 43.08 is held by foreign promotor.14.78% is held by financial institutions. From such information, company looks worth for investment....

Yes, inflation and also crude price rise will affect profitability, however Ambuja Cements have made better net profit in the quarter ending June'08 as compared with earlier 2 quarters and the company has announced 60% interim dividend, today's surges on the bourses were short lived due to bearish market sentiment, hopefully due correction will come in soon when the market sentiment improves. ...

To add on it, Inflation. Unless it comes down. Cement would continue to struggle and Steel to some extent.
