I had visited Bangalore, Madurai, Rameswaram, Kanyakumari,Tirupati, Tanjavur, Hyderabd etc. but I had never gone to Kerala. Now I do not think I will be able to visit Kerala. However, I had visited Darjeeling and Assam Tea gardens. I hd been to Baroda, Surat, Ahmedabad, Mumbai in 1963. In 1963 Surat was a very small city. Thanks.

You can go from THIRUVANTPURAM by road It is 3 hrs drive.
It is Kerala
Excellent hill st in south. We were there last year and enjoyed to maximum.
More than 80 % tea gardens are owned by Tata Tea.
I thought you are from south and you must have seen this place.
I am for Baroda Gujarat but seen most of the part of south.
I am very fond of South Indian food in all respect.
Dear you are from which place and where do you live at present.
Regards,
Manher

We need to also see what is company sales value and do not bother if they sell in x area or y area.
If you want to know what this comany is capable of doing Pl pay a visit to MUNNAR and just enjoy Green Tea F Gardens owned by Tata.
What kind of social activity is done by this company at Munnar for benefits of thousands of man/woman employees is also to be seen.
You will relax at Munnar and good ideas will prop from your mind.
OK Buddy Pl go to Munnar with your family and enjoy natures beauty,

TATA TEA may try to win the world, and spread over other categories, but do you really know why this is happening ...? ?
because TATA TEA is rapidly losing it`s base - its packet tea sales in India, in DElhi, Mumbai, Gujarat and Punjab. because they dont do any proper field-ground work. They are losing to local tea players very fast and will soon be ZERO sales in above markets.

Post acquisition of Tetley.
Tata Tea restructured its business to emerge as a brand-centric beverage company with operations in all major global markets. Recently, it completed sale of its controlling stake in tea plantations in India to transform itself from a plantation company to a marketing-led player. The company expects the financial benefits of this strategy to accrue in the next 2-3 years.
Tata Tea has also ventured into other beverages like highvalue specialty and green tea, coffee, mineral water and ready-to-drink beverages. Tea now contributes around 75% to the company’s consolidated revenues and profits, but this share is likely to reduce if investments in other segments begin to bear fruit.
The company is also looking at expanding in West Asia, Asia Pacific and Africa, where its product penetration is low. It is also increasing its penetration in the US market, which has significant potential.
The company’s growth has largely been inorganic in nature and the management is open to further inorganic expansion to gain access to key consumer segments and geographies.
Financials:
Tata Tea’s net sales have posted a CAGR of 8% since ’03 to reach Rs 4,365.7 crore in FY08. The company sold its investments in energy brands and plantations in FY08, leading to one-time extraordinary gains.
Its consolidated net profit after adjusting for minority interest and extraordinary gains has witnessed a CAGR of 1.6% over FY03-08. Increase in prices of tea in the wholesale market, along with aggressive spend on advertising and brand promotion dented the company’s operating profits in the past two years. It partly met the challenge by introducing a double-digit price increase for its products. With a dividend yield of 6.7%, the company has an average dividend payout of 50% since the past five years. At a five-year CAGR of 40.6%, the growth in dividends has been faster than growth in profits.

Rita,
See the latest results. They are exceptional (EPS - Rs35/share for this quarter). Annual rate of EPS is more than Rs 100/share. PE less than 6.
Where did you get the information that Tata Tea is loosing its market share, the results show otherwise? It is a great company.
