ITI-MTNL Merger - STATUS ?

Can anyone tell me the recent update of the ITI BSNL merger? If that is going to happen, then it is the right time to enter into ITI where we can make big profit when the merger takes place. The right price to enter is 30-34. The risk is, if the MTNL-ITI merger doesn\'t happen, then the stock might go to its lowest price of 15 to 18. That is the very big risk we should face....

Accumulate ITI and FACT on dips with a three year time frame. both have large land banks which are not recognised by the market. There is a limit for government interference and hence privatisation / land bank sale is going to happen in near future....

With reference to the news item appearing in a leading web portal titled "BSNL / MTNL will be allotted one slot of 3G spectrum today; Reserve price for auctions for pan India 3G spectrum will be Rs 2020 Cr; Only 2-3 operators will get 3G spectrum for Mumbai and Delhi", ITI Ltd has clarified to BSE as under:
"To overcome the financial constraints of the Company, a revival proposal was submitted to the Government of India. The Ministry referred the same to BRPSE and is under their consideration.
Meanwhile, as per the communications from the Department of Telecommunications, ITI had made a presentation of its case of merger with BSNL on July 17, 2008. The matter is still under examination of the Government."...

News Verification : The media had reports that Iti Ltd. may merge with BSNL. The Exchange, in order to verify the accuracy or otherwise of the information reported in the media and to inform the market place so that the interest of the investors is safeguarded, had written to the officials of the company. Iti Ltd. has vide its letter inter-alia stated,"To overcome the financial constraints of the company, a revival proposal was submitted to the Government of India. With the cabinet given approval of merger of ITI with BSNL, Last week,ITI shares are bound to reach new high. At some stage ITI shares will be swapped with that of proposed equity of BSNL. I hope you will get very decent returns in next one year....
