NEW DELHI (Reuters) - Indraprastha Medical Corp. Ltd. sees its loss-making 61 bed hospital at Noida turn profitable in the year, a senior company official said on Thursday.
The healthcare company, in which Apollo Hospitals Enterprises Ltd. holds 25 percent, also runs a 560 bed specialised or tertiary care hospital in New Delhi.

Indraprastha was moving into "more profitable space" in the coming quarters as the "trend of fall in profits is starting to reverse, Managing Director Richard Larison told Reuters.
The occupancy in Noida was picking up as it now caters more to the daily needs of the patients, he said.

It plans to add another 100 beds to its Delhi hospital by July 2008 to cater to the rising demand for tertiary care services.

Over the next few years Indraprastha will look at the possibility of either buying or entering into joint ventures with existing hospitals in Delhi, Larison said..

He said the company was now looking at more effective utilisation of the manpower and along with Apollo Hospitals Enterprises was collectively negotiating with contract vendors on behalf of 42 hospitals.

"We are able to get much better price than IMCL alone going to get it. I think the cost for consumables will continue to go down."

Nobody wants to sell Indraprastha Medical. Although it is not a front-runner scrip, it will zoom like anything in the days to come....

This quarter loss is very nominal. The scrip is hammered by operators very hard almost by 75% down. On the contrary, Kirloskar have posted 20% growth in topline. Hope, intelligent investors will understand the meaning.........
