If the FIIs exit with a depreciated Indian Rupee and at lower stock prices it is a longterm profit since the FIIs were much more wealthier with the NIFTY at 6000. In US Dollar terms they would have lost much more. Indirectly there was a huge sum of foreign debt hidden for our nation. Now if the crude prices and inflation cool off it is upto us to understand that our markets are sure to bounce back so better to be invested. If we can do this and give some stability to our markets the FIIs will be back at a higher point. This would result into an indirect benefit to our nation although will be some pain for some time and our foreign debt may go up for a little while. It is for our experts and economists and certain enlightened members on this MMB to start a discussion in this direction to let us know the pros and cons of FII investments and the cost to the nation thatthe cost of the current damage w we are witnessing.
