epi,
I saw ss rolling mills in jodhpur/ahbd reporting 30%drop. ss can be replaced by ms coated by bitumen/frp, in corrosive applications, by powder coated ms in decorative applications. I can list hundreds of more alternates to nickel, gold, silver, etc. that human ingenuity has devised within last year. Sure crude may enjoy its day in the SUN, humans will shortly tap the SUN. Anyway invest in good promoters, not in those who do not believe in repaying loans....

Shock,

Sorry, I do take the takeover bit back. Indeed, Cronimet has taken over GMR and I do find the price really low. 26 Rs is very low indeed. Cronimet I know has bought a large chrome ore mine in the Bushveld complex in South Africa and they are good company to take-over GMR Ferro. The price beats me though.

Why facor is struggling to move while Ispat also having a Less EPS and littele higher in Book value.

I need some advice regarding facor if you are investing Rs.10.5 in one share and you will get Rs.4(eps) within a year based on their history,Hence it is worth to invest in Prifitable script like this....

Epi, Shoa

What are your comments on the following? I have tried to be as negative as possible to understand the risks in GMR Ferro:

Current status
Capacity - only 27000+ tons
No Captive power
No Captive ores (in India)

We are hoping that the Chrome ore will be imported from their SA mines acquired recently. How fair is our hope? What stops Cronimet from acquiring smelters in other parts of the world where this Chrome ore can be fully utilized? Why only India?

We are assuming that Cronimet will also look to expand the existing facility or acquire new ones in India. Any idea if Cronimet has done it in the past to prove that this is their usual strategy?

Results
How did the EPS jump to 9 for this qtr when the EPS for the last year whole was around 2? Remember, they do not have Captive ore/power.

Cronimet has acquired 70% of GMRF. What if it succeeds in getting another 20% for a low price through open offer? I guess, once it has 90% of holdings it can delist the company? What happens to the other 10% holders? Will they be forced to sell out at whatever rate dictated by Cronimet?

Thanks,
Shock!...

Hi Shock,

I feel this deal might have been negotiated before the full extent of FeCr pricing kicked in and Cronimet bought GMR for a bargain. Cronimet's mine in SA has a total mining capacity of 400,000 Tonnes of Chrome Ore Per Annum and this can be used to make between 150,000 - 180,000 tonnes of FeCr. GMR's capacity is only 27,500 TPA and this is why I feel they may make more acquisitions.

I feel GMR can be a bargain and combined with the fact that Cronimet has these massive ore deposits, this can be even more of a bargain.

To me, it feels like a cheaper buy than Facor.

Hmm...

Thanks Epi for mitigating the risks :-))

I remember reading in some article that people are researching other alternatives to FeCr. May be I got it wrong.

So, what do you think about GMR Ferro? Is it a risky buy at current levels given that Cronimet has offered only Rs 26 per share? Is it possible that the deal was struck long time ago (before the FeCr boom) but revealed only recently?

Shock!

Kekanaje, i find that you are posting to many articles on Facor on other websites and now you are trying to generate the interest by this platinum mining theory. We do understand that you might have purchased some shares of Facor and are just trying to get out of this stock as soon as it goes up but try to understand that the stock market does not act on just rumours/queries of such as you have mentioned. Many of the the boarders are more experienced than you to understand the underlining meaning of what u have written and what you are writing about facor on other stocks site so please do not underestimate the investors and write anything.
