Dear Mane, though all investors have lost more than 70% in their core portfolios in the recent market meltdown, it is pity to note that your capital has been almost wiped out. I think you are new to this board and had not been tracking this stock since the time you bought it. There were ample chances to get out at various stages, where if you had, you would have cut your losses considerably.
The stock is fundamentally in doldrums. It was jacked up by operators with the tacit understanding of some analysts who were harping on the new plastic to fuel technology acquired by the company. There were a series of interviews on reputed channels and the management painted a more than rosy picture of its future due to the new biz.
Now that the new biz is in the doldrums, there is no much hope left for the company.
I had been repeatedly warning investors on the pitfalls of such controversial technology and its viablity on a commercial basis.
I personally would advise you to exit at declines and enter some other fundamentally good script to atleast cover a small percentage of your losses. If you still remain out here thinking that you are suffering losses, the losses will be still more and mounting.
The above is my personal opinion and I have been writing on this board for more than a year now repeatedly warning investors.
Now you have to take the decision.
It would be worthwhile if you consult some good fundamental analyst and take the plunge!!
What has happened has happened, start life afresh. I hope you are welloff to write off these losses and forget about them forever!

Either you may be bluffing or you may be a fool to keep the investment unnoticed for this much loss. Most probably (90% chance that you are bluffing...

Anand-bhau, it very difficult to advise. Very sad to hear your story. You have lost 95% of your capital invested in this company. I pray that you had only a small investment in this firm....

Price : BSE: Rs 398.70 ( 1.54 % ), NSE: Rs. 396.90 ( 1.28 % )
Exit from Asian for time being, leading brokerage house came with good report in the past. But, the points it made for the future valuations are seems to be under pressure.
1.The Q3FY08 results are very very poor.
2.The limelight valuations for the future is "patent it got for the fuel conversion from wastage". Which is under court dispute. If court order against the AEL it will be under deep chasm.
In my view, better to exit at this point of time.

The stock could drift down to 10-12 bucks very rapidly as the fundamentals have deteriorated!!
Wise investors should get out of such stocks and get into cos like MIC electronics which has an excellent business model and future scope for its products. The products it is mfg are the future of CFLs!!
Make your own choice!!

Once company seperates old and new businesses it will be easy to make an estimation. Right now no one knows what hit AEL will have to take hence the poor sentiment. Management should not delay restructuring any longer. Every day of delay hurts the poor investors....
