NALCO is top loser on the Nifty. It had touched an intraday high of Rs 170 and an intraday low of Rs 146.25. At 2:47 pm, the share was quoting at Rs 149, down Rs 10.3, or 6.47%. It was trading with volumes of 699,460 shares. On Friday the share closed up 8.15% or Rs 12 at Rs 159.30. ...

Dipan Mehta, Member, BSE/NSE is of the view that one should stay away from Nalco, Hindalco. These companies come out with decent results for this quarter, maybe even the next medium-term outlook for the metal sector certainly has turned worse....

The Company has posted a Net Profit for the period of Rs 4444.60 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2008 as compared to Rs 4397.30 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2007.
