Can`t say. I also have this fund in my portfolio and it is more than 60% down from initial investment. Yet, it has 5 star ratings on VR (though rating is beacause of its previous performance). I am just waiting for completion of one year so as to swtch to TOP 100.
For Infra fund, may be ICICI Pru Infra is best bet at the moment....

Although there is an article on DNA Money today, but unable to get it!...

Reason might be: Dividend Reinvestment can be switched to Dividend Payout anytime, without any exit load or charge....

One more thing!
Although my status is NRI, but can`t I open an ordinary account in a bank in which I don`t have any account like Axis Bank or Bank of Baroda (if they offer PPF Account)?...

There is no one, who has experienced similar problem?...

I asked this earlier also, but to avail no benefit.

I invested in different schemes of same fund houses by two ways:

1) Invetsed online by using HDFC Net-Banking`s Mutual Funds facility.
2) Invested through HDFC Bank, by signing physical forms.

Now, I want to consolidate these folios, but can`t. Because, even though HDFC Bank is the BROKER in both ways, I got a letter from the respective fund house, that I should contact HDFC Bank for the same (consolidation forms are forwarded through HDFC Bank itself!)

Any Idea, how to sort out the things?

Dear MIKhilji, Tax saving FDs r offered by banks to attract investors for 80C investments. Some important features r given here. 1. In Tax saving FDs there is lock in a period of 5 years. 2. U can not raise loan against these FDs like the normal FDs. 3. The interest from these Tax saver FDs is taxable 4. The interest rate offered on these FDs is around 8-8.5% by different banks. As u r an NRI, it doesn`t make sense for u to invest in these FDs. Even 5 year P.O. Term Deposit @ 7.5% interest rate is also now allowed for Tax saving under Sec. 80C. Thanks Ashal ...

They are bank FDs for 5 year lock in specifically for tax saving under 80C. Interest earned is taxable. No provision for breaking the deposit or taking a loan against it. ...

I had a similar experience. I invested through ICICI bank in some mutual funds. then i invested online. I had the mutual funds in the paper format and i wanted to combine them to my Online account. The person at icici bank actually told me i can them online in my account as will be tied to my demat account but i think he did some goof up.. They said its is not possible to do that. I also contacted the mutual fund houses and got tired of running from pillar to pole to do the conversions. I finally redeemed all the ones i had in paper format. I must say this was 2 years ago. Now i am not sure if they have any other way. Hope it help you. ...
