I'm not sure if you have read somewhere, i feel this qtrly result season could be the right time for entering into some of the LTI scrips.. There is a concerted effort to clean-up the mess and start the economy which looks like has almost come to a grinding halt..

I know am very much belong to the few minority in this, but history suggests us that these kinda situations were when the successful long term investments had made money.. History of Buffett entering on crisis also says something similar.. Ofcourse he has got a damn good deal on this, but i would look to enter some of the beaten down stocks after the results..

Unfortunately looks like it dear Googol. I felt the same on the last day when the 4100 straddle was around 40rs with half-a-day to go and settled exactly around 4100 .. They took the money both sides ..LOL..

I prefer to write calls which gives some money than 40-50 rs. Its not really worth the effort is my view considering the margin requirement. Also for the calls or puts written deep OTM, though has a higher probably of making money i feel the waiting time is a lot longer and for the risk we take it may not be worth it.. I have sold 3900CE and 4200PE for this month other than the bought positions i mentioned this morning. I sold this for around 530 and if it ends with-in that range, then we make 200 rs or so.. Lets see how it goes.. I'm slightly biased towards the +ve side currently, though huge moves on either side could still be alright over all ..

Good.. I think it makes sense to keep positions on both sides. i have 3700PE, 3900PE and 4100 , 4300CE.. I have also sold some options because the IV's are higher than the other months.. Basically sold some options trying to work out some range for the expiry day..

Its the market which decides whether its rocket or busvanam ..LOL.

Dear eshers, I have sold 4300 PE at 307, and started selling CALLS everyday, when ever i get 50 to 100 rs profits on sold calls I have booked profits, during this volatility I have made around 400 * 50 rs in sold calls , Now I have Two Sold PUT`s 4300 PE, Average 405 rs, and I have bought Two 3800 PE average 140, for next two weeks I will be selling calls and look to make 50 rs or More each time.....

0307 Dear eshers, There can not be a second opinion on what you say.If we can not enter now,when else we can?. But the points to be noted are Wait for the prices to cross at least the 20 dema to enter.That would give some stability Or else do SIP from now on for every 10% fall from the current level of the stocks you have chosen One should also remember that the waiting period may be a couple of years.But the return would be higher than 20% annualised beating the debt mkt. So one one man should follow one one method..LOL Cheers...

Dear eshers, good to be with you. The uncertainty is acute in the real estate market. I would sum my findings as follows: Infrastructure companies are finding monies more expensive than they can afford. They have lines of credit available, but are not willing to stick their own monies or borrow expensive to build. That too, to build some one else’s property. They also have fewer buyers, since there is expectation that the real estate prices will weaken further. Home buyers are the only possible customers, but few and far between. When prices tend to weaken, normal tendency is to wait for prices to fall further. In any case, banks and finance companies are being prudent and are going slow on financing retail home buyers. If you reverse the coin, the finance companies are also cash strapped, and would prefer to avoid lending in a hurry. There is no warehousing being done, either in the home or commercial markets. Land buyers are also shying away. This is true of metros and Class B cities. In fact, there are no takers for what is ready. Infra companies are now assessing their clients for their ability to pay. Some of the big names amongst the clients with land bank and who seek construction are cash strapped. Infrastructure companies such as Rahejas, Shapoorji Pallonji are seeking reassurance, and going slow. Companies such as Lanco are postponing developing their land banks. They have severe cash crunch and are one month behind on salaries to staff, and have over 5 months delay on payment to vendors. New projects of IVRCL are only being accepted from government departments. They have postponed their hotel and resort projects. I understand cement and steel companies are over stocked. There are much less takers even on additional credit period. Only exception is the cash rich DLF who continue to develop their land banks. Given this background, we must wait to either buy real estate or scrips in the sector. ....
