the stock is a laggard stock
moves down by huge amount
but moves up by small amount...

the stock was recommened by expert at 240 target of 325
after that stock was recommended as a good investment at different price
and stock is still falling
investors who invested on rumour got trapped in the stock as
the rumour has not materialized for many years
the stock moves up only on rumour hence not an investment grade stock
...

This stock is worth picking up at 110/115 levels for long term investment purpose only.
If Gujarat Govt starts disinvestment which is possible in future at any time will add value to wealth for Govt and shareholders both.

At 2:34 pm, Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals was quoting at Rs 124.40, down Rs 5.95, or 4.56%. It has touched an intraday high of Rs 130.90 and an intraday low of Rs 122.50. It was trading with volumes of 74,259 shares. Yesterday the share closed down 2.65% or Rs 3.55 at Rs 130.35.

the rumors of divestment are very often but nothing happen after that
the govt is not interested in divestment of profit making companies as they may not fetch right price in the current market

Folks, GUJARAT ALKALIES is falling every trading day and seems to e in problem. When can the downfall be arrested? The main problem seems to the announcemetn of MODI govt that the state PSU's will have to share 30% of their profits for social causes.I thought its a great stock with CAUSTIC SODA sector has potential and also with the GUJARAT govt has plans to divest this PSU, there is value and will be rewarding the share holders. Any views.

The key PSEs register annual profits of over Rs 2,000 crore, and pay Rs 700 crore in corporate taxes to the Centre.
