Hotel Leela Venture has declared good results for FY-08. Net Profit is up by 18.81% to Rs 1,499.9 million in FY-08 as compared to Rs 1,262.4 million for FY-07. Total Income is up by only 30.22% to Rs 5,891.1 million in FY-08 as compared to Rs 4,524 4 million in FY-07. The operating profit is down by 473 bps to 51.37% in FY-08 as against 56.1% in FY-07.

For the March-08 quarter the Net Profit is down by 37.4% to Rs 279.9 million as compared to Rs 447.1 million for Mar-07 quarter. The Total Income is up in Mar-08 quarter by 43% to Rs 2,023.9 million as compared to Rs 1,414.4 million in Mar-07 quarter. The Net Profit has fallen sharply due to higher dosage of taxation in Mar-08 quarter to Rs 498.5 million as against Rs 109.5 million for the same period last year.

The reported EPS for FY-08 is Rs 3.1 as compared to Rs 3.41. for FY-07. At current market price of Rs 30.65 the PE is 9.89. The Return on Equity is 20.9%.

The Book Value per share is Rs 19 and the Price to Book Value 1.61. The market capitalization comes to Rs 11,580. Market Capitalization to Sales is 2.25.

The Company has increased the dividend to 25% (face value Rs 2) as compared to 22.5% last year.
