May add to Atmosphere with mid-mkt chain

Textile company Himtsingka Seide is considering launching a home furnishing fabrics chain aimed at the mid market to supplement its existing Atmosphere stores which target the luxury segment.
The planned move will give the company greater reach, especially in tier II markets and add to its volumes, executive director Shrikant Himatsingka told ET at the company\\`s 23rd annual general meeting here.
No date has yet been set for the launch, he said, adding that the company will continue with the expansion of the Atmsphere brand with new stores in the Gulf and southeast Asia.
We are looking at opportunities to open Atmosphere stores in Hong Kong and Jakarta in Indonesia besides the Gulf. All these stores would be owned by us as we are not looking at a franchisee model. We will rope in a local partner only if required by law, he said. Atmosphere with 14 stores in India, grew by 48% during 2007-08 and is projected to grow by 55% this fiscal, he said. Himatsingka may also bring to India international brand such as Bellora which it owns or Calvin Klein and Barbara Barry, which are licensed to the company. Managing director Dinesh Himatsingka told shareholders that orders book were full despite global economic slowdown.
While other players are struggling for orders, we are hit by capacity constraints. The bed-linen facility at Hassan in Karnataka which is currently operating at 65% capacity will scale up to 85% over time.Production at Hassan is all set to rise, he said. Delays in getting SEZ status for the Hassan venture and rising input costs have forced the company to revise the cost of the project to Rs.515 crores from Rs.383 crores. ...

Are you joking is their any option left than to hold.Go through the balance sheet ,notes to the accounts and you will find something positive.My target remain 200 by sept 2009.After looking at the balancesheet please revert back.

I am not joking. Yes there is another option and that is exit at current level. One boarder has asked this specific question whether to exit from this share. Here on MMB, I never joke. I do not know how you have interpreted my msg to hold this share as a joke. Yes I hv gone thru balance sheet, notes to the accounts and everything is not that positive as you think. Liability on account of derivative foreign exchange transaction is unascertained. It will arise in 2012. I do not think the share can touch 200/- by Sept. 2009. Had this been so, I would have said BUY and BUY. Still I am not to hopeful as u r. Having said this, some buying is emerging at current level and hence the share is a HOLD....
