Interim Dividend for 08-09 will be considered on 26.09.08 meeting. This shows the confidence of the Management as well as a care for Investors. It also augers well, as Investors will be rewarded in future too. The management looks professional and very confident. Three Cheers for Selan Investors! Selan will remain in upper circuits in the days to come.
Oil exploration is an extremely profitable business. Its a high risk high reward business. On this backdrop, if management of this fledgling company is considering interim dividend, then it is a sign that management is extremely sure of future revenues and profitability. Again look at the conservative debt-equity ratio of just 0.30. There is hardly any financial risk in this company. Selan is liquid with cash of Rs. 26 Crore. It has been spending good amount of money of oil exploration. So if the company discovers more gas & oil fileds and proposes to develop oilfields and produce oil, then there is ample scope for raising funds. In my opinion the promoters will bring in private equity with good premium when the price reaches Rs. 600 and will raise long term funds of equal amount. An absolute must in your portfolio.
