What govt can do?It has already put stock ceiling on shops and end users.Govt cant create sugar.Only thing it can do is import at Rs 50/kg and sell at Rs 40/kg.But govt is not in a position to increase fiscal deficit.So prices r going up up everyday even now.BUY BUY BUY....

Hah..look at dal and rice. The price appreciation there affects people much more than sugar. Besides, the Govt has already taken all the interventionist steps it could have taken. There is a genuine shortage of sugar and the prices have to go up.Since the govt cannot control international prices and import is a necessity, it has to subsidize imported sugar to reduce prices. Now that would be real political suicide. Also don`t forget that our great agriculture minister has a big stake in keeping sugar barons happy :D...

think its fair price is around Rs.130 to 160. any comments...

Yes. Any govt will intervene if the sugar prices goes to Rs.50/kg. No govt will ever tolerate that as it means committing political sucide! So they will bring in legislation to control the prices and no one is going to raise an eyebrow for this.So always keep a watchful eye over your sugar stocks. It can turn bitter anytime!! But for the moment, it remains very very sweet indeed!!...

One of the analyst on cnbc tv 18 has given a target of 150 by dec 09 for this stock and 200 plus next year. I too feel that this stock will do well in the days ahead....

Any decent management will leave something on the table for the investors.Even when many brokarage houses maintained that the issue price is on the higher end, the company went on defending saying that they have left a very decent amount for the investors!! Today the market is up 300 points and Adani power is quoting below it`s issue price!! These type of management that tries to suck out the last drop from the investors should be shunted out in the future. so are their finanacial advisors. Imagine if the market were to crack 300 points today, where will Adani be then!!??...

I expect the market to correct viciously sometime soon. So don`t be in a hurry to buy anything and at the same time if you see proft anywhere, don`t hesitate to take it home. A bird in hand is worth ten in the bush!!...
