Visa Steel Limited has informed the Exchange that "The Company has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Chhattisgarh for setting up a 2.5 million TPA Integrated Steel Plant along with other facilities with a proposed investment of Rs. 4750.00 Crores in the State of Chhatisgarh, in lieu of earlier MoU dated 5 March 2003"....

i am visiting the visa mboard for the first time.
I think it's better to enter in SAIL at this moment,if any body wants to enter the steel zone.

Dear udit,
I'm very much there in Visa with 500 Shares to my credit..!
I sold out 250 JK Lakshmi and added another 150 Rohit today..!
Impressive results by Visa...Should do well in the long run..!

Visa Steel Limited has informed the Exchange that pursuant to Section 192A of the Companies Act,1956 ("the Act") read with the Companies (Passing of Resolution by Postal Ballot) Rules 2001, that seeking shareholders consent for Employees Stock Option Scheme 2008 ("ESOP Scheme") and granting of options thereunder to Employees of the Company, is proposed to be passed as Special Resolution, by way of Postal Ballot. The Board has appointed Mr.Manoj Kumar Banthia, Practicing Company Secretary as Scrutinizer for conducting the postal ballot process in a fair and transparent manner. Has anyone done some research about Visa that how come their operating mrgin improved in this quarter? They had almost same turnover last quarter...but the profit in this quarter was mindblowing...I hve been readig their aouncements posted in NSE..but it doesnt mention anyhting as to why their profit increaed so much.
Via should do well in the coming quarters with their backward and forward integration plans.

Vishal Agarwal, MD of Visa Steel informed that in their company, the pig iron business is back on stream, the furnace was taken down for relining. “So we didn’t have production from that in Q1 but Q2 we should get that. The coke and ferrochrome business continues to remain quite robust business for us. In Q1 we had a significant increase from Rs 72 crore to Rs 255 crore in the sales and profit after tax (PAT) grew from Rs 5 crore to about Rs 48.5 crore.”
Agarwal said, “We have to separate the commodities with regard to oil, with regard to non-ferrous, with regard to agri products and steel products. If you look at the iron and steel products, I think clearly there has been a significant increase in iron ore and coking coal prices. That has resulted in metallic prices and steel prices being extremely firm. So if I look at the outlook for this financial year, I do not see any softening happening in the prices for the iron and steel products.”
On Visa Steel’s aggressive plans in terms of backward integration both on iron ore, coal and even the coal front, Agarwal said, “We have a 54 million tonne block of coal in Orissa, which we hope to develop and benefits from that should probably accrue from FY10-FY11 onwards. We have all the metallic in place now with our pig iron plant, the coke oven plant, the ferrochrome plant, the sponge iron plant and the captive power plant. With these metallic in place, we have healthy revenue and profitability in the coming financial year. We are integrating into half a million tonne special in stainless steel plant, which will be one of the largest facilities in the country, which we expect to achieve by March 2010.”

The only negative with this company so far is slow implementation of projects..

Anagram Research has recommended an outperformer rating on Visa Steel in its August 2, 2008 research report. "Positive outlook for Coke and Ferro Chrome prices along with the re-start of the pig iron facility should enable the Company to deliver strong financial results in FY2009. Additional contribution from the 300,000 Sponge Iron and 50 MW Power plants are expected to flow from Q2 FY2009 onwards, thereby significantly enhancing the revenue and earnings outlook for VISA Steel."
"Moreover, the upcoming captive linkage for raw materials will improve operational efficiencies. Also, the special and stainless steel plant will provide a new dimension to the business model. At the CMP of Rs 55, the stock trades at a P/E of 7x of TTM EPS of Rs 8. We recommend “OUTPERFORMER” rating on this stock," says Anagram's research report.
