I hate to disagree with you. However, the bad news is that the company is just not capable. If you visit their website the demoreel can not be opened !! Compare this with the website of international companies like Pixar and you will know the difference. Moreover, the management does not inspire. It has been making loss every quarter and there is no logic. The management has no explanation. Its website is very poor and is not updated for months. When exchange rate was favorable it did not do well. When exchange rate is not favourable it is definately not doing well. ...

Add another animated feature to the list of upcoming stereoscopic 3-D releases. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lionsgate\\`s CG animal adventure Alpha and Omega has added a third dimension for its theatrical run. Co-financed and co-produced by Lionsgate and India’s Crest Animation Prods., the movie is scheduled to take a bow on April 16, 2010.

Alpha and Omega is the story of bickering wolves who are captured and taken thousands of miles from their home. Justin Long (Live Free or Die Hard), Hayden Panettierre (Heroes), Christina Ricci (Speed Racer), Danny Glover (Barnyard), Larry Miller (Bee Movie) and Dennis Hopper (Land of the Dead) are all on board as voices for this first in a number of pics to come from the partnership between Crest and Lionsgate. Panettiere will lend her voice to a disciplined, Alpha-bred wolf and Long will play the fun-loving, wise-cracking Omega member of the pack. Despite their differences, they must somehow learn to get along in order to escape and find their way home through the harsh wilderness.

The film is being directed by Anthony Bell (The Boondocks) and Ben Gluck (Brother Bear 2). Steve Moore wrote the original screenplay and a second draft was turned in by Chris Denk. Ken Katsumoto is producing for Lionsgate, and Richard Rich for Crest. Lionsgate will distribute the pic in North America and the U.K. Mandate International is lining up international sales outside of India.

Lionsgate is making the leap to 3-D with a remake of the 1980s horror flick My Bloody Valentine. The stereoscopic slasher fest is currently in post-production and is scheduled to arrive in theaters on Jan. 16.

Levitating superheroes , green ogres and wisecracking toons, animation's about making fantasy real. But this isn’t a fantasy . Made in India animation has gone global.

Be it converting horses into centaurs for The Chronicles of Narnia to the latest outing of The Incredible Hulk, the credit for many a mind-blowing special effect goes to desi artists.

At the Mumbai and Hyderabad studios of LA-based animation company Rhythm & Hues (R&H ), Indian staffers bridged time zones and geographical distance to work on the Hulk with specialists at their Hollywood office. They’re smiling now that the green giant has raked in $55.4m at the North American box office.

“As much as 30% of the work for Hulk was done in India ,” says Saraswathy Balgam, R&H’s India director. But it wasn’t always this way. When R&H’s India office opened seven years ago, it got the grunt work of visual effects like airbrushing wires so that Superman could fly.

With every film, the work improved and before long, R&H India was basking in the shared glory of the Oscar statuette for The Golden Compass. They had been involved in all stages of the creation of the visual effects — from previsualization and R&D as well as modeling the characters, tracking the footage, animating the characters , lighting them to using final compositing to deliver the completed shots.

Currently, R&H is working on films like Mummy 3, Cirque Du Freak and They Came From Upstairs. And it isn’t just R&H . With more Hollywood studios shipping animation and visual effects work here, the desi contribution to Hollywood blockbusters is only set to grow.

“India’s advantage is that it marries technology with creativity,” says A K Madhavan , CEO of Mumbai-based Crest Animation Studios. One of the big success stories in the 3D animation field, Crest started off making TV commercials 15 years ago. “In 2000, when Crest decided to take its first step into the animation industry, not a single order was forthcoming,” says Madhavan.

Today they have made more than 250 episodes of TV shows , broadcast over major networks including PBS and the Cartoon Network in the US, and BBC in the UK. Crest’s US subsidiary, RichCrest Animation , has teamed up with independent producer and distributor LionsGate to create three animated feature films for Hollywood. “From script to screen, it will be a totally Indian affair,” adds Madhavan.

Crest is just one of about 80 Indian companies riding the recent wave of foreign demand in the animation industry.

With traditional hand-drawn imagery losing out to digital animation produced entirely on computers using 3-D graphics , India’s software and computer skills have given it an edge over other animation outsourcing destinations like Philippines and China.

It’s also a very competitive alternative. A typical half-hour 3D CGI animation TV episode that would cost $170,000-250 ,000 to make in the US costs about $70,000 to $100,000 to make in India, estimates Nasscom.

Little wonder that firms like DQ Entertainment have seen orders for cartoon serials, computer games and direct-to-home DVDs pouring in from studios like Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and others.

“The amount of work coming into India is phenomenal. Companies like ours have moved beyond outsourcing to co-productions ,” says Tapaas Chakravarti, CEO of DQ, which has secured worldwide rights for Casper.

The economics are compelling , but an acute talent crunch that is pushing up salaries may blunt the country’s edge, fear many. “Recently , India lost two films to China . In face of competition from cheaper destinations, India will have to move up the value chain,” says Balgam of R&H .
