Wipro furniture to set up modern facility at Aurangabad

Wipro Furniture, part of the Wipro Consumer Care and Lighting Group, will set up a modern facility at Aurangabad to manufacture high-end premium office furniture products.
Talking to reporters at the launch of I`M, Premium new age office furnitures range here today, Company Vice-President and Furniture Division Head Parag Kulkarni said the state-of-the-art manufacturing facility would come up at Waluj in Aurangabad and it would go on full stream by the end of next month.
Refusing to divulge the quantum of investment into the plant, he said the company had totally invested Rs 100 crore for Wipro Consumer Care and lighting Group and the manufacturing facility at Waluj was part of it.
The new plant, with automated technology, would focus on new products and designs to meet the needs of the high-end consumers.
He said the office modular business in the country was Rs 1000 crore of which the premium and high-end office furniture products constitute 30 to 40 per cent.
``As it has been growing around 20 per cent year-on-year, we want to cater to these segment``, he reasoned on the company`s decision to set up the new plant.
About the new products that were launched today, Mr Parag said theI`M was India`s first Leg and Beam based system, designed for contemporary new age offices, with the essence of modern concepts.
The company would also be introducing new premium designs in furniture and seating, that would be designed by world`s finest international designers exclusively for Wipro, he said and added that these products would shape the future of office designs in India.

KRChoksey has maintained its buy rating on Wipro with a price target of Rs 338 in its October, 22 2008. "Its revenue increased 8.3% q-o-q and 37.4% y-o-y to Rs 6,535 crore, driven mainly by 5.9% depreciation of the rupee over last quarter. The IT Services revenue grew 4.0% q-o-q and 29.4% y-o-y to USD 1,110 million, ahead of its guidance of USD 1,089 million. Despite muted operating performance, Wipro’s net profit jumped 8.1% q-o-q to Rs 1,136 crore, mainly on account of higher non-operating income, lower interest outlay and lower forex losses as compared to the previous quarter. At the CMP of Rs 279, Wipro is trading at 11.2x its TTM earrings and 10.6x FY09E EPS of Rs 26.4. We maintain a buy on the stock with a target price of Rs 338," says KRChoksey`s research report.

The Wipro management said the company had given a conservative guidance due uncertainty in the markets and holidays in Q3. The management informed CNBC-TV18 that the Q2 revenues grew at 4% and added that the constant currency growth was at 5.5%.

Wipro is best among IT pack (less risky, most diversified). I am hearing next bull run would be let by IT and Tech companies. Wipro ADR trades at ~8-9 USD that means ~430 rupees. Why FIIs would by in US, they can buy here creating demand and incresing the share prices very quickly...

I agree as the company`s fundamentals are very strong and diversified as well (so wd get less affected by UDS/INR or foreign losses). They are doing very good in all the business. I bought last week and again planning to buy on dips next week....

Based on the discussions with various brokers in Bangalore and feedback from variuod Trading/MF houses, I have bought Wipro @255. They gave a short term (3 month target of ~365.
Shall I buy more on dips ?...
