As per NSE website, revenue from oil business increase from 2 cr ( june 2007) to 12 Cr ( June 08 ) but they have incurred loss under head " Other Income" amounts to 6 crs. This may be due to forex loss. I think this may be the reason why CFO has been forced to resigned.
But positive news is that oil business is now contributing significantly.
Accumulate this stock on every decline. Dec 08 qtr will be very good for result point of view. Oil + Tea results will be good

2 More demand and firming up of tea prices,which likely to continue...

If u are investing for long term... 2 or 3 years... assam co is a excellent pick... '
if for less than 1 year... dont but assam co... look at other beaten down stosck like realty, banking and auto.

Assam Company Limited has informed the Exchange vide its letter dated July 22, 2008 that : " The Annual General Meeting of the Company has been held today wherein the proposed dividend of 10% has been approved by the shareholders and the same would be paid after 22nd July, 2008".
