Please see today's Eco Times. The Finance Ministry has put a stop to the FPO plans of the company. Now this appears to be very amusing. Today the company needs a heavy dose of capital infusion to expand at the rate prescribed by the 11th Plan. The nuclear power component notwitstanding. And here the Govt puts a stop to the FPO when there would have been no outgo from the Govt coffers if it was prepared to divest a very small percentage and yet maintain control.. Why? It is evident that this is a step to help the private sector and scotch growth plans of this gem of a company. Chidambaram should be hanged .
