Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) has announced the following Audited results for the quarter & year ended March 31, 2008:

The results for the Quarter ended March 31, 2008

The Company has posted a net profit of Rs 23767.60 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2008 as compared to Rs 19018.80 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2007. Total Income has increased from Rs 106238.30 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2007 to Rs 138552.50 million for the quarter ended March 31, 2008.

The results for the Year ended March 31, 2008

The Company has posted a net profit of Rs 75367.80 million for the year ended March 31, 2008 as compared to Rs 62022.90 million for the year ended March 31, 2007. Total Income has increased from Rs 353072.10 million for the year ended March 31, 2007 to Rs 415170.40 million for the year ended March 31, 2008.

The Group has posted a net profit of Rs 75680.30 million for the year ended March 31, 2008 as compared to Rs 62153.30 million for the year ended March 31, 2007. Total Income has increased from Rs 353228.70 million for the year ended March 31, 2007 to Rs 415714.50 million for the year ended March 31, 2008.

The figures for the Consolidated results for the year ended March 31, 2007 are Audited.
