not to rebutt you or speak in favour of indiabulls, but i suggest put numbers to justify your statements:
1. not only IB, most stock across world stock markets are down 50-90*
2. indiabulls real estate is only company with 3,500 crore in cash and no extra lending requirment till 2010. so, they are the lone survivors, when everyone is bagging for credit.
3.they have not chased real estate bubbles, but smartly, only bot land in metro, where in long term demand always remain strong.
4. their investment in retails in pittance for whole group. in any case, they have closed down 50% of stores. so, loss will go down. theywill only expand, when mkt sentiment is right.
5. they are one of few companies in stock mkts wit defaults.

but inspite of this, there are negatives too:
1. indiabulls sec: no institutional presence. which means since retails people have lost money and will take time to come back to stock mkts. co. is in tough time for 2-4 yrs, unless they expand quickly into institutional broking business.

2. indiabulls real : no completed project till date. only project closer to completion are almostone year late. two mills project in mumbai( i personally did servey of projects)

3. indiabulls fin: with tight lending, no extra business, means profits will go down. in case their cost of fund is high now.

all in all, mgmt will need to show their smartness to still grow.
but i think that`s true for all companies....

A greater example of strategic incompetence cannot be found.

Basically, a group of tech savvy Delhi yahoos who got in early on the online retail brokerage boom.

They then diversify into real estate in the early stages of that boom. Notice that worldwide low interest rates led to asset bubbles in stocks and real estate and indiabulls strategy basically chased these bubbles.

Then in December 2007, at the bubbles height they diversify into organised retailing, an industry that is totally in the doldrums.

Current, business portfolio of stock brokerage, real estate (both deflating assset bubbles) and retailing ( nobody knows how to make money in this sector in India)...

The three worst performing sectors of the Indian economy.

All three group stocks down 90 % year to date.

And for those who look at promoter/insider buying selling for cues. CHECK THIS OUT.. Messrs Gehlaut and Rattan bought a further 2 % of the Indiabulls Securities at Rs 600 in February 2008. Current price Rs 95 or down 85 % since purchase. And these guys borrowed to buy this stock. !!

CHEERS.

This group`s stocks are going to zero.

ibreal is indeed a good buy at this level, it shouldnt go below 77-79 level even after discounting current economic situation. Also its more than a real estate firm & with good management (which very imp.). Also the company is sitting on a lot of cash, and `cash is king!`. I see a very good value at current level.

Mr arunshah1965,

Sorry to contradict your statement. Who started Reliance, the most respectable company in India, not by a IIM grad, but by an ordinary person, D Ambani. Dont think that all the great businesses in the world today are born from great busniess men or great companies.

Do you know that LN Mittal holds a good amount his personal investment in this group. Do you think you can a great analysis than a person like Mittal.

Dont write just for the sake of writing and with a motivation of bringing down. Nobody would belive you and sell this stock ofcourse. Also it implies that you are tracking this stock to accumulate still at lower levels, otherwise there is no need for you to visit the board. Please stay out if you are not interested.

Nuks...

Avoid real estate as of now. No need to block money in real estate. If it gains 10-15% it can shed 20-30%. It is alread corrected 60% in last 4 trading session.
