As the 53-year-old reigning superstar
Chiranjeevi of Telugu cinema gears up for his new role in politics, the question uppermost in the minds of observers is whether he can recreate the magic of NTR who had stormed to power within nine months of floating TDP in 1983, a feat that has no parallel in India's political history though MGR came victorious in 1973 byelection and swept the 1977 assembley elections in Tamilnadu with some background in DMK.People today are sitting against small screen-TV and the faces are familiar if they are shown frequently. For example if Sun TV shows daily the face of MK ,uncle of the owners , then some popularity is gained and anyone who is given 15 day campaign before the elections could not compete with these faces known
In early period MGR won as his films were run throughout Tamilnadu as Daily three shows and saturday sunday 4 shows.
NTR also won like this.
But today the small screens have occupied some place and more more actors are entering politics like
Vijayakanth,Sarathkumar ,karthik in Tamilnadu who say they are the alternative to the regular rulers.
For funding the existing parties , leading parties get money from rampant corruption and their holdings are very high today and no businessmen can beat.
But the newer ones like Vijaykanth are getting money from those who aspire to become future ministers,MLAs ,MPs etc and these richmen are lured to spend.
Corruption in any case will not leave our soils any way.Besides this development castewise polarisations are also taking place and one could not forget the importance of caste after the victory of PMK in Tamilnadu and every leading party is going after PMK to form an alliance.Other communities in Tamilnadu are also coming up in coming to contest the elections on an alliance.AP has a different scenerio where castewise polarisation can not come up in the near future as their majorities khamma, reddy have ruled state umpteen number of times whereas in Tamilnadu only the minority rulers have ruled the state so far and the majorities are not happy with this kind of minority occupation going on forever.
Hence chiranjeevi's chances depend on the polarisation of his Kapu community and votes against the the Reddy-dominated Congress and the Kamma-dominated Telugu Desam. The two communities have been dominating the State’s political scene for decades. While the Reddy community is identified with the Congress party, the Kamma community is identified with the Telugu Desam Party.
Reddy and Khamma the major communities can not yield totally to Kapu Chiranjeevi's pressures but a percentage its people may switch over because of cinema popularity. What is happening in AP is reversed in tamilnadu where the majority communities are just now waking up!

It is unfortunate that congress has no guts to take action on the terrorist, and they leave no stone unturned to let the terrorist go scot free and play politics over the innocent lives killed in the terrorist attack....

Selfishness is often cited as an indispensable ingredient for success but giant-killing boxer Akhil Kumar is an exception as he revels in his dual role of medal hunter and mentor.
Akhil — himself one win away from a dream Olympic medal — can spend a sleepless night to instill confidence to his junior and cousin Jitender Kumar, accompany him to the ring and gesticulate over four rounds to help him win his battle. No wonder then that Jitender — second Indian boxer to qualify for the quarterfinals — wants to win an Olympic medal for Akhil, his mentor and “everything”.
“When you are the seniormost member of the (boxing) contingent, you have to think about the juniors as well. You just cannot think about yourself only. “I like interacting with youngsters and if it helps them, nothing like that. Jitender is very fond of me and he’s more than a brother to me. In fact, he has developed a style which is very similar to mine,” Akhil said.
Jitender, for his part, reciprocates by saying he wants to win a medal for Akhil’s sake. “Akhil has been everything to me and I want to win the gold for him,” Jitender, bathed in sweat and blood still dripping from his chin, said after his 51kg pre-quarterfinal win against Uzbekistan’s Tulashboy Doniyorov. “Akhil had fought with him and knew his style. I could not sleep at all last night and I did not let Akhil sleep either. We chatted how to go about today’s bout and he kept telling me I have to win,” Jitender said. “I fought like him and won. In the ring, I would often look at him and he would signal me how to go about it,” he added.
“Jitender is a very promising boxer and would go a long way. I have been boasting that I would not settle for anything less than gold. But to be honest, I have more faith in Jitender’s capabilities,” Akhil said.
“He is a better boxer than me. He is faster and stronger and if there is anything lacking in him, it’s experience. “I’m confident about myself but even more so about Jitender’s prospect. And if my tips helps him achieve his goal, nothing can be more satisfying than that for me,” added Akhil. ...

Embattled President Pervez Musharraf has been asked to leave "quietly and quickly" or face impeachment and criminal charges including one accusing him of allowing the US to breach Pakistan's sovereignty.
The south American countries block the president palaces so that they escape on helicopters. This happened many times in Bolivia,Ecuador,Chile etc when the rulers become more corrupt and when they sell nation's natural resources.
Pakistan also asks frequently to get out of the country when they are charged. But poor India has nothing to do with these kind of acts as ours is a democracy and the corrupt , more corrupt, highly corrupt, earning thousands of crores by just sitting one term in office ,are not at all punished even by the next government. They escape freehanded and become the biggest welath owner in their respective, cit, taluk, districts, state, nation and even in the world! ...

Dear, if timing is debatable, tell me one year, where we did not had elections....we either have state or parliamenatry elections. One should not expect the Govt to stop from taking decisoins, bcoz of elections....if this decision was taken last year, u wld have mentioned the other state elections, which were held this year...so timing is not at all debatable....
As per Indian Navy chief Admiral Sureesh Mehta “Even as more details are awaited, prima-facie, all the concerns of the defence forces appear to have been suitably addressed. The increase in Military Service Pay of PBORs (personnel below officer rank) and compensation for middle-rung officers is particularly heartening,”. Mehta is the current chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee.
Hope u are aware that the Military Service Pay recommended by the Pay Commission has been enhanced from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,000 for PBORs and has been retained at Rs.6,000 for officers up to the rank of a brigadier.
Middle level officers—colonels, brigadiers and equivalent—are now placed in the highest pay band of PB-4. Lieutenant generals, overlooked for promotion as Army commanders due to lack of residual service, would now get the grade of an Army commander.
Following the submission of the Sixth Pay Commission report in March, there were protests from both the civil as well as the armed forces. The three service chiefs, had made a joint representation to defence minister AK Antony stating that their expectations had not been met. A series of high-level meetings followed. And it was earlier this week that the demands of the armed forces were considered.
Hope after reading this, trasureddhan and u, will realize the facts and will appreciate the govt for taking the necessary steps, tough it was late.......

The decision of the government is not but the timing is debatable.
It is crystal clear that the government has timed the decision with an eye to the next parliamenatry elections.
What trasureddhan has said is correct because defence is one of the categories which is less corrupt and they also ensure that we the civilians live a life of peace.
However, providing equal hike to all the government personnel is not a professional thinking at all.
In any form of pay hike performance should be the major criteria.
How do you expect better performance from the government organizations when the performers and laggards are treated in the same manner..
