Tribal man sacrifices son, sister and niece in Orissa
Baripada (Orissa), October 11: A tribal man allegedly killed his son, sister and niece to sacrifice them during a puja at Anibajada, about 35 km from Baripada in Orissa`s Mayurbhanj district, police said on Saturday.
Bansidhar Madhial, who had performed a puja late on Friday night, allegedly hit and killed his sister Katina Nayak (35) and niece Rekha (10) with a blunt object.
They died on the spot, police said. Madhial`s son Jagan (13), critically injured in the incident, died in a nearby hospital in Betanati after being admitted there.
Madhial, a clerk in a government office, has been taken into custody and further proceedings are underway, police said.
Though the reason behind the killing was yet to be ascertained, preliminary findings indicated it could be a case of human sacrifice as the accused had been worshipping during late hours of night for the last couple of days, police said.
Katina and Rekha, who live in neighbouring Gaudagaon village, had gone to Madhial`s house to celebrate Dussehra.

Official: 3,000 Christians flee Iraq`s Mosul
Hundreds of terrified Christian families have fled Mosul to escape extremist attacks that have increased despite months of U.S. and Iraqi military operations to secure the northern Iraqi city, political and religious officials said Saturday.
Some 3,000 Christians have fled the city over the past week alone in a "major displacement," said Duraid Mohammed Kashmoula, the governor of northern Iraq`s Ninevah province. He said most have left for churches, monasteries and the homes of relatives in nearby Christian villages and towns.
"The Christians were subjected to abduction attempts and paid ransom, but now they are subjected to a killing campaign," Kashmoula said, adding he believed "al-Qaida" elements were to blame and called for a renewed drive to root them out.
Political and religious leaders interviewed said the change in tactics may reflect a desire on the part of extremists to forcibly evict all Christians from Iraq`s third largest city.
Earlier this week, Chaldean Archbishop Louis Sako said he was worried about what he termed a "campaign of killings and deportations against the Christian citizens in Mosul."
Mosul police have reported finding the bullet-riddled bodies of seven Christians in separate attacks so far this month, the latest a day laborer found on Wednesday. On Saturday, militants blew up three abandoned Christian homes in eastern Mosul, police said.
Father Bolis Jacob of Mosul`s Mar Afram Church said he was at a loss to understand the violence. "We respect the Islamic religion and the Muslim clerics," he said. "We don`t know under what religion`s pretexts these terrorists work."
The violence in Mosul occurs despite U.S.-Iraqi operations launched over the summer aimed at routing al-Qaida in Iraq and other insurgents from remaining strongholds north of the capital.
The killings come as Christian leaders are lobbying parliament to pass a law setting aside a number of seats for minorities, such as Christians, in upcoming provincial elections, fearing they could be further marginalized in the predominantly Muslim country.
Iraq`s Christian community has been estimated at 3 percent of Iraq`s 26 million people, or about 800,000, and has a significant presence in the northern Ninevah province.
In Mosul, where Christians have lived for some 1,800 years, a number of centuries-old churches still stand.
Joseph Jacob, a professor at Mosul University, said there were nearly 20,000 Christians in the city before the 2003 U.S. invasion. But over half have since left for neighboring towns, or new countries, he said.
Islamic extremists have frequently targeted Christians since the invasion, forcing tens of thousands to flee Iraq. Attacks had tapered off amid a drastic decline in overall violence nationwide, but that appears to be changing with the deaths this month.
On Saturday, Bashir Azoz, a 45-year-old carpenter, said he was forced to flee his home in the city`s eastern Noor area after gunmen warned a neighbor the day before to leave or face death.
"Where is the government and its security forces as these crimes take place every day?" asked Azoz, who is now staying with his wife and three children in a monastery in the Christian-majority town of Qarqoush, east of Mosul.
Separately on Saturday, a U.S. soldier died when a bomb exploded near his vehicle outside Amarah, southeast of Baghdad. The U.S. military said it was withholding soldier`s name until it notified next of kin.

I have been reading your messages but did not reply since no one was in mood to listen to my views of even sub 10000 levels, however, I had smelled the rat as the system was collapsing. I as Indian Born also would like Indian markets to prosper, but when the money has started going to wrong pockets, the hooligans stashing India`s wealth Abroad, and corrupt politicians making billions without having any credentials, what do you expect the markets to do. The markets were most vulnerable for attacks, and even today the markets are vulnerable even if you see minor dead cat bounce, the FII`s are also trapped in a big way. The people who made money are no longer seen in the markets. FII inflow stopped, Domestic people shying away, with weak sentiments even a strong fundamental company stock plummets, to any abnormal levels. Even when the markets had gone up it had extremely overstretched valuations of any company, the valuations of some stocks are still high, the companies need to shed some more fat before any buying comes in Indian stock Exchanges, hence be on sell side currently and sell at every rise and exit. Hey venkat......As there is panic all around there is no suprise sensex going below 7000 eventhough my personal view is it won`t go to that kind of low levels...But the real problem is if it won`t rebound to 15000 levels is the real concern even after 2 years or so.....Regds

Unfortunately for u many westerners are now disbelieving the concept of Jesus is the son of god and acknowledging he is a messenger of god and he has only said to worship the Lord and not himself by displaying his idols in churches. That is why u have Islam as the fastest growing religion in Europe and America and not christianity and very soon your David J Stewart may himself acknowledge that ur seat of power in Vat... has distorted things to make themselves more powerful than the Lord himself.

Can we bring back our money? It is one of the biggest loots witnessed by mankind — the loot of the Aam Aadmi (common man) since 1947, by his brethren occupying public office. It has been orchestrated by politicians, bureaucrats and some businessmen.
The list is almost all-encompassing. No wonder, everyone in India loots with impunity and without any fear.
What is even more depressing in that this ill-gotten wealth of ours has been stashed away abroad into secret bank accounts located in some of the world’s best known tax havens. And to that extent the Indian economy has been stripped of its wealth.
Ordinary Indians may not be exactly aware of how such secret accounts operate and what are the rules and regulations that go on to govern such tax havens. However, one may well be aware of ‘Swiss bank accounts,’ the shorthand for murky dealings, secrecy and of course pilferage from developing countries into rich developed ones.
In fact, some finance experts and economists believe tax havens to be a conspiracy of the western world against the poor countries. By allowing the proliferation of tax havens in the twentieth century, the western world explicitly encourages the movement of scarce capital from the developing countries to the rich.
The Tax Justice Network (TJN) published a research finding demonstrating that .5 trillion of personal wealth was held offshore by rich individuals across the globe.
The findings estimated that a large proportion of this wealth was managed from some 70 tax havens.
Further,augmenting these studies of TJN, Raymond Baker — in his widely celebrated book titled ‘Capitalism’ s Achilles Heel: Dirty Money and How to Renew the Free Market System’ — estimates that at least trillion have been shifted out of poorer countries to the West since the mid-1970.
It is further estimated by experts that one per cent of the world’s population holds more than 57 per cent of total global wealth, routing it invariably through these tax havens. How much of this is from India is anybody’s guess.
What is to be noted here is that most of the wealth of Indians parked in these tax havens is illegitimate money acquired through corrupt means.

The four main wars of the United States` 20th century are argued by the film to have been started or engaged in purely to further the economic strength of a group of men. Events attempted to be exposed as fraudulent or staged are the sinking of the RMS Lusitania, the Attack on Pearl Harbor, and the Gulf of Tonkin Incident; all occurrences which carried the U.S into the First World War, Second World War and Vietnam War respectively.
According to the film, the U.S. was forced by the Federal Reserve Bank to become embroiled in these wars not to win but to sustain conflict, as it forces its government to borrow more money from the bank, with interest attached, thereby increasing the nation`s debt and the profits of those who own The Fed. The film gives a history of the Reserve, claiming it engineered the Great Depression to steal wealth from the American population and was responsible for the attempts to assassinate Louis McFadden, a congressman who attempted to impeach the Reserve.
This section also explores the possibility that there is a clandestine movement, promoted by the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America, to usurp the American constitution and US dollar, by merging the United States, Canada and Mexico into a North American Union that uses a single currency, the Amero, without the ratification of Congress. This currency union would create a super-state similar to the European Union, which together with the African Union and the proposed Asian Union would gradually be merged into a One World government. The movie concludes that under such a government, every human could be implanted with a RFID microchip which would be used to monitor individuals and suppress dissent. The film gives a history of the Reserve, claiming it engineered the Great Depression to steal wealth from the American population and was responsible for the attempts to assassinate Louis McFadden, a congressman who attempted to impeach the Reserve.
This section also explores the possibility that there is a clandestine movement, promoted by the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America, to usurp the American constitution and US dollar, by merging the United States, Canada and Mexico into a North American Union that uses a single currency, the Amero, without the ratification of Congress. This currency union would create a super-state similar to the European Union, which together with the African Union and the proposed Asian Union would gradually be merged into a One World government. The movie concludes that under such a government, every human could be implanted with a RFID microchip which would be used to monitor individuals and suppress dissent. The movie ends, however, on an optimistic note, expressing confidence in the possibility of overthrowing oppressive forces and the ultimate triumph of revolution through enlightenment.

The 9/11 attacks are shown as a staged event which has acted as a pretext for imperial mobilizationThe second part of the documentary, entitled "All the World`s a Stage", claims 9/11 was engineered to generate mass fear, initiate and justify the War on Terror, remove civil liberties from the general public, and for economic gain. In furtherance of the Jesus myth hypothesis, this part argues that the historical Jesus is a literary and astrological hybrid,[6] nurtured politically in the interest of control.
Horus, the Egyptian Sun God, is introduced as having a number of attributes similar to many other religious deities which came after him, including but not limited to Attis, Krishna, Dionysus, Mithra and Jesus Christ; these attributes including virgin birth on December 25th, 12 disciples, burial for 3 days and resurrection and performing of miracles.[10]
The film offers that the explanation for these common attributes is astrology, for example: death, burial for 3 days and resurrection is cited as being based on the winter solstice, where the Sun`s peak reaches its lowest point in the sky, resides there perceivably for 3 days, and starts to move north, symbolizing the rebirth of the all-powerful creator. Another Christian-astrological similarity highlighted is the way the three stars in Orion`s belt (called the "Three Kings") align with Sirius on December 25th, the brightest star in the sky, and point to the Sun`s rise on the horizon. This is equated to the Nativity of Jesus, where three kings follow the star in the east to locate the birth of Jesus. Jesus travels with twelve disciples much like the sun and twelve constellations of the zodiac.
Christianity is then said to be a Gnostic myth, historized by the Roman Empire for social control of Europe through doctrines established at the First Council of Nicea. The Dark Ages, the Inquisitions and the Crusades are given as events which maintained Europe`s submission to The Vatican through Christianity.
The following quote is said in conclusion:
“ Christianity, along with all other theistic belief systems [...] empowers those who know the truth, but use the myth to manipulate and control societies. [...] It reduces human responsibility to the effect that "God" controls everything, and in turn awful crimes can be justified in the name of Divine Pursuit. Zeitgeist was first released on June 26, 2007 and topped the Google video charts most viewed videos.[7] The film was translated into several languages and is distributed officially via Google Video and BitTorrent. Zeitgeist won the top award of Best Feature Documentary/Artivist Spirit at the 4th Annual Artivist Awards in 2007 in Hollywood, CA.[8]
A sequel has since been released. Zeitgeist: Addendum premiered at the 5th Annual Artivists Film Festival on October 2, 2008, at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood, California. Like the original film, Zeitgeist: Addendum was released online -- free of charge -- on October 3, 2008. [9]

Then there follows a sequence of clips showing the horrors of war. There is a short clip that shows a hand writing "1 + 1 = 2", but is brushed away by another hand before the first finishes, and is replaced by a bible and an American flag. After a few more war clips, the film then quotes Jordan Maxwell`s Inner World of the Occult, criticizing religious institutions, governments, and the banking cartels who "have misled [the people] away from the true and divine presence in the universe." This portion ends with more images accompanied by audio of a portion of a George Carlin monologue on religion

The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) has reminded the government to ratify the UN Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) that would help the country seek return of its assets seized in foreign jurisdiction besides unravelling many cases of alleged embezzlement and bribery and finding the identities of actual beneficiaries.
Sources said this was the second reminder since German authorities early this year expressed their willingness to share information on some rich Indians who had parked black money in a Liechtenstein bank. The German government had obtained a list of account holders at Liechtenstein`s LTG Bank that included some Indians. It had expressed willingness to part with the names if the Indian government approached it through formal channels.
However, despite the CVC reminders, there seems to be little or no progress in this direction. The CVC is peeved at the lacklustre response of the government which is taking the premise of not having ratified the UNCAC due to which it is difficult to put in a formal request for return of assets seized in foreign countries.
India is a signatory to UNCAC which came into being in December 2005, but it is yet to ratify the convention that would help it in seeking return of its money seized in foreign banks. UNCAC provides for seizure of any proceeds of crime, including those related to bribery and embezzlement, cutting across borders. The convention facilitates freezing of all such tainted money and ensure that it is returned to the country where it rightfully belonged. Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are among the 117 countries that have ratified the convention while India is still dithering on the issue. After ratification of the treaty, it would help India not only recover tainted money seized in foreign banks linked to its citizens but would help in getting information from foreign jurisdiction without much formalities.
The CVC, in its recent communication, specifically reminded the government on the benefits of Article 43 and 51 of the UNCAC. While Article 43 helps in getting cooperation from member countries
