Dividend payouts cannot be guaranteed to be consistent and does not always reflect the company`s past payment record. In these times when interest rates are very high and raising money is very difficult, the management would want to preserve cash by stopping/reducing dividend payouts and holding on to it for their own needs/expansion plans....

Do you think they will stop paying dividends ? or decrease the amount. If so please explain your view. I am hopeful only.

The present carnage in the market is mainly due to Sub-prime collapse connected with the real asset values collapse in US and UK. This may shortly spread over to India.Realty stocks valuations in India look attractive, but the future is very gloomy, may be perhaps most of the companies undergo huge losses due to demand crunch. That is why FIIs are selling these shares at any prices....

Well, one thing is never go by what these brokerage houses say. Since January this year I see 95% of there calls going wrong and it makes no sense to go by their words. Regarding Prajay here is what I found out
1. Low promoter holdings (16%) and very high FII holdings (70%) [as of 30th Jun-08]. FIIs are facing huge liquidity pressure and they are selling at any price and booking losses.
2. The Real Estate sector is in a crisis and nothing has been done to revive it till now. Probably if the RBI cuts the interest rate (could happen around Oct 24th when the RBI meets) then this could be the first positive sign for the sector.
3. Even if situation improves then investors will first flock to large caps like DLF and Unitech therefore recovery might be slower and prolonged for Prajay.
4. The management has shown little concern towards the investors. The best thing they could have done was announce a buy back which would have not only increased their holdings but also given support to the stock price. Unfortunately this is not happening.
5. Given that the promoter holdings is low and the stock price has cliff dived from around 480 levels Prajay could be an acquisition target which could be good news for us investors, but again for any corporate raider there are many options today in the market.

P.S. Forget UR posts and SELL all as I expect the markets to collapse by another 30-40% in this global meltdown.

DEAR FRIEND,
LINDE BEING GERMAN COMPANY AND WITH GOOD PRODUCT LINE BUSINESS IN WORLD WIDE WE NEED TO TAKE CERTAIN CALCULATED RISK AND GO FOR INVESTMENT.
NO RISK NO GAIN. IF IT IS IN COMPANY WITH SOLID FUNDAMENTAL STRENGTH AND INHERENT VALUES WHY NOT KEEP THE SAME WITH YOU IN PRESENT MARKET CONDITIONS WITH YOU ONLY.
I CONSIDER SAME FOR INVESTMENT IN ANOTHER GROUP MICO...

Well if you really see its balance sheet its net current assets are in -ve which means they have more liabilities than current assets so i dont see any financial strength in the company to withstand a lean period . Even 120 rs looks too much for it. 200 is way way above it. Anyway its better to be careful than being wrong.

Good Morning pss ji,

When a stranger enters a village and never talks to anyone but carries with his routines, there would be different kinds of reactions from the other people

First they would be ridiculing him and making fun of him to make him speak.

If that fails,

They would fear him and spread rumours that he has come to the village with a conspiracy.Accordingly all his actions would be viewed with suspicion.

If that also fails,

They would start worshiping him as a saint who is going to solve all their problems Accordingly all his actions would be viewed with awe

Paddu is the stranger and we are the villagers and are in the II stage.Efforts are being made by some well wishers to take us in to the III stage

Regards,...

Sir,

when u mention acquisition of logicacmg by TD r u referring to the Logica. I cant believe it. It is possible that a miniscule section of logica may have been parted with by them for consolidation of core business. TD does not have the capacity to acquire that Logica which is generally referred to, but vice versa can be true though wishful thinking at present. Those who are well to do can afford to buy more of TD to average out but for others who are hard up it will be suicidal to risk it in present market conditions.

It is same for most investors!.. My portfolio is now 65% of what it used to be. I am not worried. You know why?.. I always expect the unexpected. That is to assume in advance that the shares I buy will come down.

At these times, the only thing I do is to buy selective stocks. Some of these include the ones in my folio and some are new. This will pay off in the long run.

I have recently got into Omaxe(120),Parsvanath(107),HDIL(175) and JP Associates(113). At the time of purchase I did anticipate that the prices of these stocks may come down though the fall has come a little earlier and a little more than what I expected it to be. But never mind, I would only use this opportunity to add some more of these stocks to my folio as I believe this sector will have a future in the long run.

I am writing this because most of the time investors sell off in panic at a huge price difference. Selling out of panic is not a good thing. If we believe in the stock, we should hold it and average it if necessary.

Hope there will be atleast some one getting benefit out of this.....

Dear Suyogparakh,

We should never rely on this broker, friends, technical analyst, fundamental analyst, because all are having some interest about what they recommend, so the decisions has to be taken with the organized way and making sure that the investment fall in line with your risk capacity.

My portfolio is now become 60 % less, most of the investors portfolio sinks to 50 % to 80 % now ( whoever started last year from SEP 2007 ), so it would be very wise to take your own decisions and device some strategies to come out with out loss or win the markets.

Good luck..

One more negative news on Satyam that some of its associates have been stealing data from World bank servers during the course of maintenance. Im not sure how much of this is true, but it may take this stock to the levels and much lower that what you mentioned....

Everything going bad in satyam at the moment.... many of theiramerican clients are in problem.... severe job cuts in the company sending poor signals to markets.... top executives selling the scrip is giving additional pressure on the counter....

Unless otherwise, the management shows some interest in the share price, there is little chance for investors to get profits in the counter....

Analysts expecting present weakness may be continued for some more time and projecting the down target to 170 levels in coming sessions....

Well markets can behave irrational but company`s fundamentals do not change over night, I have been screaming always to buy this share as it is a very good stock, diversified business and if one has to have belief in india growth story this stock is very good pick in infrastructure space, RJ bought Nagarjuna construction at 130-140 levels and stock is now at 55 levels, such stocks will bounce back sharply and I don`t know but my gut feeling tells me that market will bounce sharply too, I could be wrong but it is just a feeling that in Jan - Feb we will be trading much higher... happy investing

Really it is a great news for this share. Normally, many promoters would not go for conversion of their warrants at such a high premium when the market price of their shares fell so sharply. It is their confidence about the company which has enabled the promoters to go for such conversion. Thanks for this info. Keep it up.
One can safely have confidence in this scrip at current valuation, though further weakness depending upon market condition may still b there. For LT investment, it could b OK.

Buy ICICI Bank at every decline. ICICI has been battered mercilessly, it has a lot more intrinsic value, once share recover back to 500 plus leves all this bearish boarders will come back and ask if that is a right value to buy, this is very symbolic of every bull and bearish phase, when markets are moving up like crazy, overvalued looks very cheap to everyone, when markets are falling like there is no tomorrow, all great stock appear to be so expensive at undervalued levels, this stock is sure to bounce back, it was good time to buy it yesterday when it dropped to almost 320 levels and I did bought 200 more, If it beaten more I will buy more. It is a very strong back with very sound fundamentals, I have a great respect for Mr K V Kamath, I am sure he wont hide anything if banks has to absorb huge losses... so people who apply their own wisdom can do what they feel is correct, do not sell in panic and do not follow baseless rumours and bearish calls... happy investing. ...

Jaiprakash Associates Limited has informed the Exchange that the Company has today, the October 10, 2008 allotted 1,00,00,000 Equity Shares of Rs.2/- each for the cash at premium of Rs.395/- per share to Jaypee Ventures Private Limited., a Promoters` Group Company, against the equal number of Share Warrants issued to them at the rate of Rs.397/- per warrant. This is a new or corporate announcement from NSE wensite.. if I understadn correct they have already gone and converted one crore warrants into equity shares... at 397 rupees... this stock seems to be undervalued at this time.
