Fake currency notes seized from SBI branch

Economic terrorism is probably knocking at the door. Or so it seems - fake currency notes worth Rs 2 crore were seized from the State Bank of India or SBI branch in Uttar Pradesh. The Reserve Bank of India or RBI unearthed the notes on a tip-off from the UP special task force.

70%of our national income is eaten up by nethas and babus
so there is no surprise BK Chaturvedi babu recommended this

see the fact
Dear Friends,

Find the detail break-up of the Final price of petrol available in pumps.
This is a break up considering crude oil at 130 $ per barrel. Following details are for per liter petrol in Rs.
Basic Price = 21.93
Excise duty = 14.35
Education Tax = 00.43
Dealer commission = 01.05
VAT = 05.5
Crude Oil Custom duty = 01.1
Petrol Custom = 01.54
Transportation Charge = 06.00
Total price = Rs. 51.90
So for a Rs. 22 liter petrol at pumps we people pay Rs. 28 tax extra.

Govt. is thinking to impose more price hike to curtain with the current crude oil bubble in International oil crisis.
If Central Govt. wishes, it can still reduce the price of petrol in the current crisis situation, but it doesn\\\\`t intend to do so, instead trying to fool the people and Nation. This is the basis LEFT parties are opposing, just generating more profits for the oil marketing companies.
Don\\\\`t you think you should pass this message to create more awareness among the people? So they consider this aspect before they vote for the coming elections.
Note: all the figures are approximate and eye opener.

Govt not too happy with BK Chaturvedi Committee report

Posted by : MMB Messenger

The government's response to the BK Chaturvedi Committee has been lukewarm. The report hopes to align prices to market rates, going as far as recommending monthly revisions of petrol and diesel. In an election year when inflation has crossed 12% these recommendations may stay just that.

Protesting the proposed merger of State Bank of Saurashtra with its parent bank SBI, over 80,000 officers owing allegiance to All India State Bank Officers\' Federation will go on a nationwide strike on August 18, a statement from employees\' union said. FI-EX-

It also threatened that its members along with their counterparts of associate banks would launch an indefinite strike in September if State Bank of India management moved ahead with the proposed merger.

Charging the SBI mangement with ‘misleading’ the Union Cabinet, the Federation said the merger move is not acceptable to it as well as Associate Bank Officers Association, which have been jointly opposing it since the beginning and have held a series of agitations including strike on the issue.

\"The approval of the Cabinet is incongruous considering that Parliament has recently approved amendment to SBI (Subsidiary Banks) Act, 1959 thereby providing for more autonomy to associate banks through appointment of separate Chairman for each bank,\" AISBIOF President T N Goel said.

He added that there was no justification for the merger as all the associate banks are performing well and do not suffer from any weaknesses.

Goel said one major fallout of the proposed merger would be closure of a large number of SBI and associate bank branches, adversely affecting flow of credit and banking services particularly in interior and rural parts of the country.

The AISBIOF President said the SBI management\'s argument that the merger will substantially increase the size of SBI balance sheet and enable it to compete with global banks is \"fallacious and misleading
